With the rise of shows like Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia the number of female anime fans has exploded, if you want proof just see the ginormous box office numbers for the Demon Slayer movie. I know you've been in an Eastern European Slavic tundra for the last few years but if you go to any large city in the United States you'll see plenty of men and women wearing anime-related clothing.

That's completely fair. May is absolutely fucked, and I'll definitely concede that any woman over the age of 30 that watches anime is definitely fucked in the head in one way or another. Because obviously when they were younger none of their peers would be watching it. You gotta have some sort of trauma to make you pick a hobby whose only other participants are weird neckbeards who have some funny ideas about the age of consent.

I understand where you are coming from but I personally see anime as more of a symptom of something larger rather than the cause. While you could certainly make the argument that anime is making young men effeminate and turning children into androgynous gender blobs, I think it's fair to say that the current state of western animation or television isn't much better.
