I never really saw her stuff, but she was supposedly fairly fluent in English (she was very involved in the HL reddit) and a shitposter, so she probably had a Pippa-type surface appeal.

She was involved in the formation of the HL subreddit and Redditors love when girls give them attention, let alone get and enjoy their terrible memes and humor. She came at a time when the only real Holo English was Risu and kind of Iofi and Moona. Before HoloEN gen 1 came out, an English Hololive was an untapped audience. Some people also genuinely believe she was innocent or even forced/expected to do what she did, but that's as much wishful thinking as "believe all X".

What will be interesting to see is what server is technically able to handle more people, because we haven't seen mass people on the EN one yet only on JP. I'm sure we will get some sort of an answer soon. Feel free to read the sort of summary I did below.

I'm leaning towards Cover cheaping out on hardware, since even Kiara mentioned to management that they needed to upgrade their servers. More RAM and double check their internet plan and ask them to install or pay them to install a fiber optic to their backbone network since ISPs usually cheap out on the last kilometer or so with copper.

With Intel's 12th Gen Alder Lake (desktop) coming out in Nov and their server CPUs Eagle Stream in the first quarter of 2022 with both supporting DDR5, they can make an absolute monster of a server because why not.

Well, that explains a fair bit.

But pardon my continued ignorance... wasn't there like red flags about her behavior? I mean, a short list includes back talking co-workers like a mean girl that didn't get over her high school years (and looking like she does, we're gonna need a serious psycho analyst to untangle that baggage. :story:) and bullying genmates to the point of causing actual distress. This is all before Coco and Haachama did the cardinal sin of reading a fucking country's name (Taiwan btw).

Did people just, like, ignore that? If i found out any of the girls I followed was a walking fallout zone, I certainly wouldn't give a crap about them anymore.

That would be the easier route, I was just talking about the upcoming support for DDR5 RAM that the new CPUs can offer. Current ones lack the necessary integrated memory controllers. AMD EPYC “Genoa” Zen4 is slated for 2022's 3rd quarter, latest rumor so who knows.

If I were Cover, I'd recognize that Minecraft hosting isn't my primary business objective and pay (through the nose if need be!) an actual Minecraft hosting specialist with shared admin access and a 24/7 support plan. Minecraft is some of their foremost content and is literally breaking barriers between branches right now, it's worth any reasonable expense.

Speaking of breaking barriers, Gura's on the JP server right now and ran into Polka (if you're not watching, look forward to the clips). Polka shot her with fire arrows, I don't know why lol.

But meanwhile I'm also trying to watch Pomu play Gal Gun VR. Half paying attention, I think it's just a wave shooter but the "enemies" are anime girls approaching you amorously, and you shoot them with a gun that makes hearts come out? Anyway, I don't need to understand it, it's just hilarious watching Pomu scream in terror at anime schoolgirls popping out of nowhere.
