The Australian totalitarian megathread - She won't be right mate.

Govt lawyer in the nsw supreme court seems to have said the public health orders are now going to expire not in November but next Sunday? So mandates are off? Maybe the new Premier is making his trumpy freedom loving views known in the beauracracy
I have a feeling (hope you are right) that what he is talking about is the current PHOs. The new one is already written and online, ready for 11th October to be 'in force'.
It's the one that says 'General'.

So I have a question to all the Aussies. How did you guys let it get this bad in your country?

The majority doesn't care and fall in line like good little sheep.
You think us cunts posting here, screaming about the tyranny of the masses, are actually the masses? We're the minority. Outnumbered and outgunned and watching in terror as the savages bring down the gates and force us to comply.
It all stems from the fact that our rights are meant to be protected by legislation and common law. We have no 'first amendment, second amendment etc', so our political elite could hammer in all the gun control and freedom restrictions they wanted and since only a minority gave a shit it faced little opposition. We had no protections for our rights and so our rights were stripped from us.

And, once again, the masses don't care. We're a country of 'it'll be alright as long as I buckle down and do what the authorities say', but it never fucking is. Pattern recognition is too much to expect from the average Australian.

Apathy.

We have a situation where we used to trust our media, they used to be fairly okay, as much as biased reporting has been around forever. For the most part though, we could get the news, and go down the street and see that it was, what the news was reporting.

For the most part, we haven't left that way of thinking, because of things like access to information, and how expensive everything is. Until recently the average person couldn't afford unlimited internet, they still can't afford unlimited 'cable' TV, plus most of it is absolutely garbage, so we're still resigned to getting our news from the free-to-air channels and newspapers, and as we all know, both have become EXTREMELY one sided in the last 5 years.

Very few people know how to find information, they may know how to use critical thinking, but they have no idea how to apply it to internet sources. It's still a totally different world to most Australians, even academics.

You only have to look at the Rudd thread on twitter, for the most part they are normal Australians replying to him, they still believe everything he says, even if you were to show them that he has shares in Pfizer, they don't see what difference that makes, 'well people can have shares in anything they want, doesn't mean they are evil', type of thing.

*sigh* I've honestly had enough...

I think this is the key; it doesn't matter what people think because the system was pretty much designed so that what people think doesn't matter either way. I mean literally, citizens didn't even get suffrage in the Lower House of the parliament until the Eureka Stockade. Which I just read about again recently, I hope that wasn't in this thread. Point is all the curly wigs and shit are there exactly for the dumb fucking reason you'd think. It is fundamentally all built to insulate the power of the 1700s corporate aristocracy from the lower class.
So I guess if you look at it that way maybe it's a victim of its own success, perhaps in a democracy things could have been stirred up enough so the inbred government wouldn't be in a degenerative retard spiral.

IMO apathy thing is facilitated. It's all marketing to exploit the outdated Australian self-identity of pride in individualism and self-sufficiency. It's not that much of a trick to warp that into arrogant superiority.
Cause look at that trick: government governs badly, politicians play dumb and act the clown publicly. People get to feel superior to the clowns: even the common man has more sense than the upper class. So there's something in it for them not to ask questions, and no consequences for bad governance. But they make themselves distasteful, despicable, and since you have no power anyway it's convenient not to think about the mess. Isn't "apathy" better than helplessness?
Australians have no power, but blame themselves. Guilt and shame, the convict joke.
Kleptocracy continues disguised as ineptitude, for generations.

So in other words you're completely behind the 8ball and the country despises it's citizens I'm guessing.

Yeah Australia fucks their citizens

Aussie bodybuilder Calum Von Moger went back home.
day 7/14: It feels great to officially be back in Australia 🇦🇺 but my feet aren’t on home soil yet.

I have one more week left in hotel quarantine before I’m able to go to VIC to finally see my friends and family.

Yeah it’s been a tough year, and I’ve lost a lot. (Losing Rex was the hardest for me). The list goes on and on but i know it’s not just me… everyone has.

Especially those in Melbourne, Victoria at the moment. I’ve seen and felt the frustrations you’ve been dealing with and I couldn’t sit back comfortably any longer.

I know this sounds crazy, but a voice inside told me it’s time to give up my freedom and luxury life in Los Angeles and come back home. To feel my presence there again.

We are all in this together and I for one look forward to joining the shitshow and embracing clown life with you all there. 🎪

And to be fair, I just really missed Australia. Can’t wait to see you all soon. ❤️ 👊

So close. They really think China will give a fuck what a bunch of little islands say even if they band together to say it?
They raise some good points but we really do need an increased naval presence to try and keep China in check. Of course the time to start that was years ago, but back then we were so busy sucking CCP cock that we couldn't see past all the chink cum on our faces.
They still own a fucking chunk of Darwin's port infrastructure btw. And part of our dairy industry. And at least half the Victorian government. And half a dozen other things that we sold to them without a care.

A hostile foreign nation with imperialistic goals probably owns more of Australia than Australians do

That's the worst thing about this we're seeing our nations activly getting robbed by foreign nations and if you say anything about it suddenly you're a white nationalist.

Australia is in the shit its in because:

1. We are a very wealthy country
2 . We are, all bullshit aside, generally well-governed with 70%+ of Australians receiving more in government benefits than they pay in tax
3. Despite the romantic frontier bullshit, we are a highly urbanised, fundamentally middle class people
4. Being an island nation, we managed to crush the original COVID strain

All of this leads to high trust in government, a profound awareness we have it good and the resultant terror we will lose it all if we don't behave, and the idea that the government could actually keep us safe from the dreaded bat aids

So save me government, I know you can and I trust you, please don't take my widescreen tv and Mercedes GLC from me

Have all of you seen #SaveAustralia on Twitter? The fact that Americans care more about Australia than Australians do is pathetic. It doesn't help that Australians have the audacity to turn around and criticise Americans for their healthcare, gun laws, etc. despite the fact that they're protesting for them as if Australians aren't equally, if not more arrogant than the Americans they criticise.

Minor pl, but a few weeks ago I had to go to see my GP at a private clinic and I saw another client there that was there who clearly had a nose job (still with bandages and bruises). Really made me think, considering that the hospitals are supposedly so overwhelmed with the unvaxxed that beds aren't even available for other patients.

Also has anyone had any firsthand experience with trying to leave this shithole with dual citizenship?

At least we're not as bad as Americunts. And All this "Australia is one country" nonsense is like harassing people from Seattle about the laws in Alabama. Low IQ all around.

But sure, the American "I guess I'll just die then" works. Life is fucking cheap over there.

But it's not all Americans. Some retarded gentleman on Twitter, when confronted with workplace vaccination laws announced he was moving to Portugal because the women were hot. But they're riding 95% and wouldn't want his unvaccinated ass.

People who exist on the fringes of "how the medical system works" don't understand that there are some plastic surgeons that book out a glorified kitchen to do simple day procedures that do not require you lingering for weeks in an intensive care ward with your vitals being monitored 24/7 by a nurse who is in there ALL THE TIME.

You can get a nose job or your knee arthroscoped, but god help you if you are a car accident victim who needs resus or a Level 4 Cancer patient.

ICU's aren't like regular hospitals were someone might stick their heads in every hour. Its the difference between a dentist and a maxillofacial reconstruction.

Except I'm in Victoria, and even elective surgeries have been put on hold even if they're important.

Also the comments on that article are fucking vile
