Something I've wondered... the West Coast cities are getting increasingly woke and insane to the point of having many elected officials who vocally support communism. The ports are controlled by woke unions and the woke local government. Many of these groups vocally support China and then there's the matter of the large populations of Chinese in those areas.

What if the local governments in, say, Portland, Seattle and San Francisco conspired to have thousands of PLA troopers brought over on container ships to occupy each city? The police forces in the cities have been cut to the bone and wouldn't stand a chance against such an invading force. Sneaking them in through the ports would allow them to take over without drawing attention from the military. The invasion could take place over a night where they roll all the troops along with tanks, artillery pieces and anti-air batteries out of shipping vessels and quickly take over the cities; they would have plenty of time to plan all this out.

The PLA could effectively make each city a massive military base with the residents used as human shields. It would be impossible to shell or bombard them without killing hundreds of US civilians. The Chinese troops wouldn't be able to take much ground beyond the cities because they would be blasted if they got too far from their human shields, but they could make life hell for the US in the mean time. They could hold a significant chunk of the country's shipping capacity hostage and demand all kinds of concessions.

The city governments would function as Vichy leaders with promises that they'll get to lead the new "socialist republics" that have been carved out of the US once the revolution is complete. China would claim they're on a mission to "liberate the oppressed peoples of the United States white supremacist system" and they'd have a bunch of city council members and union leaders from the cities backing them up.

After the invasions happened the Navy could cut off China's access to the cities, but the PLA could use the millions of hostages to their advantage by threatening to withhold food and starve them if the supply lines aren't left open. They could wall the cities like Berlin and not permit any supplies to come in from the US., saying if the people in those cities are to be permitted food it must come from China along with more PLA troops and materiel.

Taking those cities would also put them in control of a huge amount of technology infrastructure. Imagine if Facebook, Twitter, Amazon and every other tech company HQed in those places fell under PLA control? Even if they couldn't take over Amazon per se, shutting down its HQ would cripple its ability to deliver things until they could get an alternate system set up to run all their fulfillment centers. Think what it would do the the country if Amazon suddenly stopped operating.

Biden in the meantime would wet his diaper and call a lid for the day.

That is absurd and would never occur. For one, shipping containers lack the essentials to leave a long voyage on and also wouldn't really be able to pack the numbers that would be required. So ignoring that logistical impossibility, you also have the fact that they support communism, not China in particular. I don't envision troops being smuggled -inside- shipping containers, rather they would be in the holds of cargo ships. Of course, one of the biggest assumptions here is that there are cargo ships with a hold that can comfortably fit a thousand or so troops for a voyage, and that the conspirators can control enough people to a point where all the normal checks would be bypassed. The troop carriers would have to jump in line to unload all the troops, and I don't know about all the processes involved with shipping so there's a good chance it's completely infeasible.

Reuters' Vincent Lee quickly pointed out that Biden appeared to be referencing a conversation from more than a month ago (not a recent call, as he seemed to imply) while also pointing out that there is no "Taiwan Agreement".

It surmised that Biden appeared to be referring to the Taiwan Relations Act, which binds the US to establish diplomatic relations with Beijing, not Taipei (while obligating the US to supply Taiwan with the means to defend itself).

One America News Network’s viewers are likely not fans of AT&T content programming, which includes CNN, HLN, Bleacher Report, and HBO’s John Oliver. Ideologically, AT&T and OAN are enemies. Yet despite those differences, the two have found a partnership unearthed on Wednesday.

Reuters revealed in court findings that OAN is almost entirely funded by AT&T:

“One America News, the far-right network whose fortunes and viewership rose amid the triumph and tumult of the Trump administration, has flourished with support from a surprising source: AT&T Inc, the world’s largest communications company.

“A Reuters review of court records shows the role AT&T played in creating and funding OAN, a network that continues to spread conspiracy theories about the 2020 election and the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The finding adds that Robert Herring, OAN founder and chief executive, testified that the inspiration to launch OAN in 2013 came from an AT&T executive. Some snappy New York Times writer is waiting for that executive’s name, I assume.

“[AT&T] told us they wanted a conservative network,” Herring said during a 2019 deposition seen by Reuters. “They only had one, which was Fox News, and they had seven others on the other [leftwing] side. When they said that, I jumped to it and built one.”

Since OAN’s launch, AT&T has provided the network with tens of millions of dollars in revenue, court records show. Get this, 90% of OAN’s revenue came from a contract with AT&T-owned television platforms, including satellite broadcaster DirecTV. So do the math.

“Herring has testified he was offered $250 million for OAN in 2019. Without the DirecTV deal, the accountant said under oath, the network’s value ‘would be zero.’

An AT&T spokesman declined to comment on the testimony, only saying that DirecTV broadcasts “many news channels that offer viewpoints across the political spectrum.”

It’s revealing that AT&T would help build OAN privately, though publicly crush the network’s viewpoints. AT&T doesn’t want the media to know it had involvement in OAN’s creation, while knowing the company has some level of upside. It’s smart business.

For those still wrapping their heads around the report, to sum:

AT&T owns WarnerMedia, the parent company of CNN, and helped fund OAN. Meaning, Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon, and Jake Tapper are, at least, work cousins with the most pro-Trump network on the air. That’s hilarious.
