Twitch has been compromised

Even the dates were spot on, what a visionary he is.

I feel like some of the criticism of some Twitch streamers is totally fair, a lot of them are narcissistic grifters. I don't watch twitch at all, but I have a hunch that not all of them are like that, and some of them just bumble about in ways that look shady to critical onlookers, but are really just incompetence.

Imagine you're some average IQ epic-gamer. You're not very smart and don't have any serious life prospects, which is why you decide to start streaming on Twitch for fun. You don't think it's going to make you rich, it's just something to do since you've just gotten fired from Wendy's or you've dropped out of college. Then in only a couple months times you're making $10k a month and rising and have a huge fanbase. How would you react?

Probably not super well. You did get fired from Wendy's. If even a Wendy's can't rely on you long-term it's crazy to think that thousands of zoomers watching your every move won't find something annoying that they can criticize.

I'm not saying they shouldn't do better if they are fucking up, they should do better. But also you gotta remember who becomes a Twitch streamer in the first place. Most of them don't set out as money hungry lunatics (though some definitely do, and some change over the course of their career). They're just your average gamer who happens to be funny enough to entertain a child. It's really not that high of a standard and I don't think it's surprising when they bumble around aimlessly.

this is shockingly evident when you look at the youtube guys too, the legendary titans like pewdiepie and Markiplier are just faggots making stupid faces to entertain 11 year olds, imagine recording yourself doing the stupid cringy shit a lot of us probably do when we're alone in our gaming caves and putting it on the internet for shits, and then after a few years of doing that you're making millions of dollars. all it takes is luck and a high Dunning-Kruger power level, and a face/voice that's annoying enough to evoke the right effect. now given that soyfacing for hours at a time is literally your only job skill, and probably your only life skill, imagine how good you are at keeping your personal affairs in order, when you're wielding an amount of wealth most people require dedicated staff to manage

So when will they hack apple and fuck their security 3 ways to Thursday?

given that The Fappening literally happened because iCloud had zero effective protection against basic brute force attacks, I'm not sure whether to bet that Apple hastily papered that up and still has egregious security gaps all over their services, or that they took the nuclear approach and actually dumped a significant amount of money into hardening their platforms to ensure it wouldn't be a problem again

Some of guys need to stop crying about these streamers' earnings and revel in this shitshow. Yeah, they make more than you will likely ever make in your lifetime, but you need to appreciate what you have instead of envying what others got.
I enjoy these numbers; if you aren't one of the top streamers you are making fucking peanuts.

If anything, these numbers speak to a blend of advertisers being pretty eager to be swindled out of their money and of a generation or two with such excessive socialization issues that throwing money at some bourgeois retard for a few seconds of their name being said on stream is somehow fulfilling.
these numbers don't include donos and spons

I really laughed so hard when i saw Vinesauce and Vargskeletor (Joel) in the last payouts.
Even Vinny not being online all the time and Joel appears when he pleases is fucking funny.
The system is fucking broken at this point.
I feel morally conflicted about watching streamers but I love varg, these numbers make me feel a lot better about it too. 100k/year isn't peanuts but it's not exactly fuck you money either.

And of the top streamers how many do you suppose are competently managing their money? Take solace in the knowledge that many if not most of these high-rollers will wind up just like DSP before its over. They'll wake up one day in their late 30's broke, totally unemployable and with zero marketable skills.
