Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Hell, even the earliest of nukes weren't all too dirty. Hiroshima and Nagasaki are doing just fine.

In retard terms, the radio isotopes made by bombs are quite deadly, but that means they're using up all of their energy quickly and become mostly inert.
Deadly shit decays fast.
Wasn't it also because they were airburst?

I'd argue it's a realpolitik issue. They need to take Taiwan to finalize and fulfill their revolution, legitimizing their rule. I know it's funny to think of the CCP looking at Taiwan as a kid who wants their toy, but there's more to it than just being a pissy brat.
Realpolitik says they should just leave it. They gain no material worth from Taiwan. It's not rich in any real resource China lacks in, their constant need to have men ready to take it is a massive drain on them, and they would expand a ton of resources to gain it for... no real pragmatic reason.

Manchin Digs In - Won't Budge On $1.5 Trillion Top-Line, Says No To Filibuster Carve-Out For Debt Hike

Just... breath it in. Manchin was always a little loose on the filibuster, but this marks him no longer being so. Threaten and coerce a man enough, and he stops caring.

This is why I'm not really doom pilling as much. I'm not saying cancel culture is ending by ANY means, but it really feels like more and more people are finally standing up to these people that just name-call and shame them into submission.

Eventually, a lot of these people will just stop caring. I'm transphobic because I don't want to date you? Fine, I don't care. So now you've created another transphobic person. And at first I think that was the goal because they could create their own enemies and then use that as PROOF that they are oppressed, but I feel like even that is starting to backfire.

There will never be a better time for china. We are at our weakest leadership wise,
I don't know man. I think the decline is going to continue for a long time. Ten years from now the USA is gonna be in even worse shape, twenty years from now the country might be totally unrecognizable. All China has to do is wait.

Of course that is assuming that China themselves don't decline and collapse in the meantime.

Waiting isn't an option, Taiwan is actively advancing its defenses and there comes a point, mainly wrapped around naval capabilities, China will simply be unable to take Taiwan.

Their 8 SSKs are running ahead of schedule by two years and should be finished in 2023. Japanese tech, so solid and probably better than anything China has. It doesn't sound like much, but they're perfect for the south China sea.

I feel like China's biggest "threat" to taking over Taiwan isn't the US, it's Japan. Japan and China HATE each other, and Japan would have no problem fucking with China just on general principle.

Maybe I'm completely wrong about this though.

“Hello, China? Yeah, General Milley again. Here are those ship positions you wanted. Yeah, just do me a favor and wait until you get a little further inland to start killing people. The people on the coasts don’t have a problem with CRT. But the ones inland… that’s a different story.”
And the ones inland tend to be rather well-armed, fighting on their own soil. Lots of Chinese blood to water the American trees of liberty. 👍

You are right and wrong. In the short term, Japan is way more important. its support will ensure that Taiwan will last at least a weak, which is what the U.S. would need to prep and be ready for whatever the Chinese do. The week point is also the point where the war goes from Quick& Easy to "Fuck, China collapse imminent".

The U.S. then comes in and is more important in the second half, where it ensures China -bleeds- for the attempt.

it's not an unfair guess that the main reason they have been building up their navy over the past 2 years was, specifically, to fuck with China in any way possible.

Does it really take an entire week to yeet a Tomahawk into the Three Gorges Dam?

I think it might be better to consider an attack on Taiwan in terms of three 'Phases'.

Phase 1: The initial attack, days 1 and maybe 2 depending on Japanese response time. This one is entirely up to Taiwan, sinking as much of their ships and transports as possible and doing bitter fighting on the coast. The entire goal here is -delay-.
Phase 2: Japanese reinforcements, securement of the waters. Japan + Taiwan have a good chance in a defensive battle to go toe to toe with China.
Phase 3: America rocks up and begins the absolute naval slaughter, Taiwanese and Japanese forces focus on securing any remaining land forces.

Considering it'd need to get past any Chinese AA, yes.

Oooh, I wouldn't want to see anyone trying to through from the West coast to the plains. That's a lot of mountains, a lot of forests, and a lot of guns in the way...

Ok, I know this is 2-3 weeks late, but this is the first time I've heard of this story.

Part of the $3.5T plan was to "subsidize" journalists $50K/year?

That doesn't seem biased at all! No wonder they are sperging the fuck out about it so much.

The Chinese and Japs do still hate one another, that's no secret. Japan been trying to abolish Article 9 for years and years so they can rebuild their military properly in order to counter the Chinese, it also would reduce their reliance on the United States Navy but it would still take them a decade or two to really get back up to speed.

The US Navy is still the biggest deterrent overall though, this goes basically for repelling any would-be navy from any hostile nation.
