I've been thinking about the question posed a few days about about why his reaction this time seems larger than previous episodes of stupidity. Previously I had a post about technology and timing, but I've thought more about it and I think that he's sort of out of his comfort zone.

By that I mean he's had a long history of three easy steps: Join An Organization, Get Kicked Out, Complain. It's worked well for him. I suppose he has been involved in more volunteer railroads or museums in PA than anyone else and who knows if he's ever gone out of state with this show.

He's done that pattern with Steamtown, with those divers he tried to trick, and now this Colebrookdale RR (was he with that Kempton thing at one time too?). To my knowledge he really hasn't had to face much more than being escorted off of some property. He's been relatively free to push the limits, way beyond reason, but he hasn't really had any decent punishment. The worst he's faced is to get kicked out and true to his pattern always seems to find a new place or thing to focus on and perhaps even push things further. Lather, rinse, repeat.

People talk, but people talk faster on the interwebs, and I suspect his ability to join any group with members smarter than Len is now zero. This has broken his cycle and left him with nothing but time and butthurt for the last link in the chain.

Just another perspective, but his motives (though coupled with a lack of intellect and tact) are likely not tied to one specific factor. It's probably a lovely tapestry of bizarre ideas and misdirected hatred.

Now that is interesting, is it possible to be that dumb you create a conspiracy to excuse your own actions and shift the blame because your mentally incapable of rationalising your own actions to your intent.

My opinion is Len is right on the line of legal retardation, like Phil he is marginally able to take care of himself but he need's massive amounts of assistance to do so and a qualified wrangler to keep him out of trouble.
