They don't need the inland parts. They don't have the population to overcome the votes in the cities, and the restrictions poll well in the cities. So what are they going to do, join Idaho? That won't even get to the US Congress, the D-controlled state legislatures wouldn't allow it.

There are entire suburbs surrounding all these cities that went with the restrictions initially out of good faith but are far less approving of them post-vaccination.
I moved 1 county away from downtown Seattle and the number of people wearing masks outdoors dropped to zero outside of teachers at the local elementary school. Practically every small business and even some of the smaller chains have taken down signs pronouncing the mask mandate and don't bother enforcing it if someone shows up not wearing a mask. This is 20 minutes from the city. No one cares about COVID anymore.
Covid-related lockdowns are a losing prospect now that vaccines exist. I could easily see Inslee, Newsom and Brown leaving any further restrictions to major cities the millisecond Biden declares the pandemic past us for the sake of PR.

You are going to fire people in the middle of a shortage? And I have a few friends in the know: the nursing shortage is legit AND the nurses are burned out to begin with. I can't speak for NYC, but Upstate a lot of hospitals expanded the "religious exemption" deadline because these fucking hospitals have no interest in firing people in the middle of a staffing shortage.

Hochul is begging to be primaried at this rate; the fact that she wasn't even elected isn't helping her reputation any either.

The media is not a faction onto itself, instead through a twisted weave of owners, alliances, leanings, and bullshit each media outlet is beholden to one or more of the civil war factions.

Maybe I'm over optimistic, but I think for 2/3 of the country, COVID is already over for them. They got their shot if they wanted to, they will wear a mask if they feel like it, but they've basically moved on. I live in the non-NYC part of the state, and everyone here is effectively over this shit.

I really think COVID fatigue has hit a limit. Even Saint Fauci had to backpedal on his "I'm not sure about Christmas" bullshit. We see 60K people on Saturday and Sunday attending football games, but Fauci really tried to play the fool on seeing our families? Who isn't seeing their family at this point?

Most of the people that wanted the vaccine got it and have moved on. The rest they are going to try to force to get the vaccine by removing them from society, but the problem is that then they have to contend with their own BLM dogs because black people don't want the shot.

I think it's coming to an end soon in America. This crazy bitch Hochul can declare whatever she wants, but it can't go on much longer. Now we are starting to see legit problems with hospital understaffing and the like. They have pushed people too far, and they are becoming densensitized to the COVID IS SCARY GIVE US YOUR FREEDOMS bullshit.

Truth be told, if NYC continues to do those vaccine papers requirements in bars on top of their defund the police stunt last year, more people will be irritated with the government and not bother. Smaller communities are not even bothering. They're already having trouble with unemployment.
