General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

It took a MINECRAFT server merger of all things for talents to start mingling among branches. That's gay.

One of Nijisanji's Apex addled cinnamon rolls is under heat. Not even the first time apparently.

Not gonna pretend that I know more than what I had found on leddit.

The latter part sums it up. A Japanese twitch streamer who was very vocal about hating V-Tubers was invited to CR Cup (he has allegedly since turned over a new leaf). But his fans are still sheeple who hate V-Tubers and so when Chihiro's team killed his in a scrim they gunned for her specifically.

He has asked his fans to leave her alone but at this point I'm not sure what the fuck CR are playing at inviting someone like that. His live viewers reach about 60,000+ for a gauge in just what she's dealing with.

Apparently, the earthquake earlier today did claim a Hololive victim.

This dancing duck warms my kokoro damn much

Now she's singing Fansa, and I immediately remembered Kaichou (:_(

edit: Subaru's singing + dance moves makes me believe that besides Sora and a few, she is a true idol too.
They don't call her Hololive's sun for nothing. She puts so much effort and heart into everything she does, and it's wonderful to see it paying off!

I'm not going to write down an autistic play-by-play but there's a fascinating back and forth going on in /vt/ questioning who two of the Wave 3 people actually are and I honestly don't know what to make of it.

It's especially funny because the wrench in the works of the 'Hana/Shannon/Lyrica/Marie' was thrown by fucking Selen Tatsuki of all people by saying one of the members wasn't a singer and were nervous about recording.

We know 100% that Lyrica is Millie and it's very likely that Reimu is Marie given her JP competency and laughing at Petra's Spanish, but what's interesting is that people can't actually agree on Shannon being the mommy fox or the higher pitched bird. If Shannon is the bird, then it means Hana didn't get in and there's an unknown person playing the fox.
I'd imagine it's safe to say that the confusion will be cleared up as soon as they debut?

Still glad to hear Lyrica is (essentially) confirmed. The Millie character design is excellent, top-tier even, and I think she'll have a lot of fun with it!
Lyrica will actually be the first VTuber I've ever seen before and after going corpo, so it'll be interesting hearing a familiar voice from a new model.

Sora basically bringing Ina around her builds/stuff, explaining things like Ina's in a voice chat with her (Sora's def using it to practice her English), and Ina is just vibin and following. Who knew I needed this to exist :story:
This is exactly what I needed to exist -- more JP/EN interactions.

But also for Sora in particular... I posted a clip a few pages back about how Subaru would be nervous to chat "casually" with Sora, and that's mostly around honorifics and polite/impolite language -- well, English doesn't really have those same rigid distinctions, so it's almost a headstart in some ways. And obviously western countries don't have the strict senpai/kouhai culture (although even in the west, junior coworkers can often be shy around seniors/higher-ups).

Sora may not find as close a friendship as she has with Iofi within the EN branch, but I do hope they take advantage of the more casual culture and language to really make her feel welcome. The tour with Ina was a great start, and if Baelz almost managed to push Sora down a hole during their first meeting, that's a very good sign too!

I was looking at that "Little Witch Nobeta" game that got (very slightly) review-bombed by the bugs for having Hololive voices in it.
This is a feature I personally haven't seen from Steam before -- the reviews were marked as "off-topic" and are removed from the aggregate review scores (there are asterisks at the top too, and tooltips explaining it).
Not sure if this means it was auto-detected by some algorithm, or if someone at Steam actually bothered taking 5 minutes out of their day for such a small indie early access game, but either way it's kinda impressive.

Chink antis, and being completely ineffective at anything - name a more iconic duo!

That feature's been around for some time. See for example https://store.steampowered.com/app/617830/SUPERHOT_VR which got negative reviews for removing a scene where you kill yourself.
I don't know whether it's automatic.

Actually she confirmed in her drawing stream that there is not gonna be any Slipknot songs.
According to her she doesn't know any of their songs.

Calli's pretty talented, but I don't think I've heard her actually pull off the fry scream distortion necessary to do Slipknot-type stuff. Besides, I think we've had enough talents blow out their vocal cords recently.

I'd imagine it's safe to say that the confusion will be cleared up as soon as they debut?

I'm not gonna lie, if this is some elaborate diversion from them to make people second guess what was such an 'easy' group to figure out, they've done a good fucking job.

If Enna is Shannon, she sounds nothing like her in the MV and I'd be awestruck she managed to deliver that line, but if that's the case there may be a small while before Nina gets figured out (like Petra and Kronii) if it's not Monkeyism.

So we'd be able to figure out if Shannon is in or not on debut but that 4th person has been a mystery that people (want to) believe is Hana Flores.

The dude actually gets 100k+ live viewer pretty easily. Last month he played APEX aswell and if im not mistaken he got 200k peak live viewers. He is basically the biggest gaming live streamer of japan.

I finally caught up with the current wave of meinkra collabs and jesus hell, the Bunkeronii is looking like an aircraft carrier.

edit: Captain Bae couldn't bring herself to push Soda down the trap chute, so she locked her in with blocks. It was kinda cute.
That's actually just her tree farm if I remember right. She's basically being the living version of that Dream video about Minecraft Youtubers
So this is the next step in live2d?, live2d will become gaming rig tier of "how many lights i can put on there"

I was watching the art vTuber Yuniiho yesterday, and she was playing MuseDash after streaming her art stuff. But I noticed that as she played, the lighting on her character changed to be close to what was going on currently in game. Timestamped below to show what I mean.

I found a surviving stream of Lyrica and Shannon interacting with each other and plan to sift through it all for any cool info. So far we know that Lyrica and Shannon have known each other since AT LEAST 2014 and live very close to one another somewhere in the Montreal area.

Given that they both streamed Ryuusei Nova's (now Elira) debut and hyped her up, and she also lives in Canada, I wouldn't be surprised if the 3 of them are IRL friends from before V-Tubing and we finally start getting some off-collabs.
