I think he's abjectly miserable. One of the most obvious outward signs of severe depression is neglecting personal hygiene. He's suffered setback after setback, and he has a guilty plea for electronic harassment on his record that he thinks is totally unfair because he didn't harass Erika "that much." His lawsuit against Null got dismissed, and his arch enemy was responsible. I'm not sympathetic, he brought everything on himself. But I think deep down the multiple failures are weighing on him.

He claims he was very good, but I doubt it for the reasons you state. He states outright he didn't want to be there, and was only on the mission so his parents would pay for college. He went to a fucking strip club on his mission ffs. I seriously doubt he was ever really devout, but just went through the motions to appease his parents. As soon as he got out from under them, he went straight to the brothels. His de-conversion story is murky, but the general consensus here is that once the elder told him that god might not give him a wife in this life, he tossed the whole thing in a dumpster and lit it up because god didn't hold up his end of the bargain.

The worst part is Russ would have the audacity to sit there and bitch about the positive attention people like this receive.

You know what I'd like to see? I'd like to see Taylor Swift recognize the musical talents of this guy. She's done some really nice things with her publicity - maybe she could visit him, do a photo shoot, and raise some money for charity. All really good PR.

I'd love to for Russ to see a story titled "Taylor Swift recognizes the talent of disabled musician/songwriter" just to see him SEETHE. Not exactly a call to action but if anyone is itching to subtly fuck with Russell's fragile ego and accomplish something positive at the same time, a basic Facebook campaign to get any of Russell's celebrity crushes to publicly recognize the musical accomplishments of people overcoming their disability would be pretty kino. It might actually take off by itself since Taylor's core fanbase tends to go for this sort of thing, regardless of whether or not it would hurt the feelings of our pet gimpy-faced retard. Just a suggestion.
