Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?
In the 1720s and 1730s, at the height of the craze for these voices, it has been estimated that upwards of 4,000 boys were castrated annually in the service of art.[12] Many came from poor homes and were castrated by their parents in the hope that their child might be successful and lift them from poverty (this was the case with Senesino). There are, though, records of some young boys asking to be operated on to preserve their voices (e.g. Caffarelli, who was from a wealthy family: his grandmother gave him the income from two vineyards to pay for his studies[13]). Caffarelli was also typical of many castrati in being famous for tantrums on and off-stage, and for amorous adventures with noble ladies.[14] Some, as described by Casanova, preferred gentlemen (noble or otherwise).[15] Only a small percentage of boys castrated to preserve their voices had successful careers on the operatic stage; the better "also-rans" sang in cathedral or church choirs, but because of their marked appearance and the ban on their marrying, there was little room for them in society outside a musical context.
I have a pretty good feeling you don't even know who Ken Paxton is, but please, explain why you're so certain he will cuck on this. Some faggot judge in Dallas doesn't decide what the state government is allowed to fight over.
No country uses a gold/silver standard any longer, and the supply isn't infinite. It is said that current mines will be tapped in a few decades and it's getting more and more expensive to mine those new deposits we can find; while the population and demands on governments are always expanding.
I get that it slowed government spending and I like that part of it, but it can't work long-term in light of dwindling supplies, can it? Why don't we just LIMIT SPENDING and actually make them pass a real budget instead?
I mean, this is all for funsies, as it's not as if they'll ever go back to gold standard OR limit spending/pass a real budget anyway, ha.
More silver is mined every year than demand. it wasnt last year due to covid but ~20% of silver in the common market is from recycled sources. Gold is such a stable metal that it never decays, corrodes and hardly tarnishes. Gold is actually renewable. it can be recycled for an infinite number of times and never lose its purity.
when people state that gold is mined out they are mistakenly thinking that since surface gold has mostly been taken that there is no more to be had. this is incorrect. large amounts of gold and silver still exist in underground deposits that simply were not accessible in years past. another thing most dont know is that ALOT of gold and silver recovered in any given year is acutually a byproduct of other mines. Copper mines recover a significant amount of gold. Silver is recovered in large amounts as a by product of Zinc and lead mines. as a native metal silver is actually more rare than gold. native metals are metals that can be dug out of the ground as their metal form (ex: a vein of silver).
Lets also not forget that the reason these metals are valuable in the first place is their rarity and longevity. Once asteroid mining becomes easy Gold and silver will lose their value as a currency as their supply would far outstrip demand. but that is a long time off.

A thought...no major country, including Russia, China, and Iran, can actually have a "real" budget. As countries develop, people expect more and more in the way of services from their government, directly or indirectly. They want reliable utilities ( roads, potable water, sewer, gas, electricity, broadband). They want more and better public transportation. They want more access to better health care. They want good schools, at all levels. They want some sort of social service net for the indigent/handicapped/aged/etc. They want more and better housing. They want to be confident that the foods they buy have been inspected for safety. And they look to government to do and provide all these things, even if they have to pay user fees/copayments/taxes. Governments spend a LOT on "people things". Then they need to spend X amount on defense, etc. But not all governments' budget processes are transparent or even semi-lucent. Bet if we could see the actual government budgets for the major countries we'd likely find they spend much more than they say they do. We estimate countries' national/internal debt compared to their GDPs, and tend to find major countries running up deficits and amassing huge debts, as much as 250% (Japan) and close to 300% (China) of their rather large GDPs.
Let's talk some Uncle Joe no-shit. No major country can afford to have anything but a fiat currency. Don't know of any country whose currency is backed directly by gold or silver. Don't know of any major country where those in charge will tell their people, for any length of time, that they can't have the utilities, schools, etc., they want. You see, there's an implicit deal. The people will put up with relatively high taxes and authoritarian regimes as long as they can get what they need, or they see the government doing their best to meet those needs. The trouble starts when the government totally falls down on their end. Even the Biden regime, like previous US Administrations and regimes, understands this. It's just that the budget process in the USA is much more transparent (and politicized), for all to see and comment on.

Well, at least if it happens to you, you'd have had a long and happy relationship with your sacred gems before they parted ways with you. You made kids with it, played with it since a kid, etc.
This isn't a big deal, as McConnell being on the list should tell you. This is the deal he had already agreed to, to keep things open till December. The can kicking while the Democrats destroy themselves. The Media is only pushing the amount to make it feel like Dems got a win, rather than 480 billion being the "Keep the U.S. Lights On" amount.
Addendum: It's also McConnell dragging his nuts over the other side, showing he has -such- control over his side of things that he can choose to have the exact number needed to break a filibuster he himself set up. Compared to the Dems who can't get two fucking senators on board.

I actually unironically want asteroid mining like this to happen ASAP. Not so much as to destroy the world economies or hurt TPTB per se, but having a cheap(er) and large supply of metals like silver, gold, and ESPECIALLY platinum will be a godsend for almost every electrical device we want and need (energy storage, fuel cells, medical devices, etc). If platinum can get as cheap as copper (in 2021 prices), we are living in pretty blessed times.
Also unrelated and I'm going to sound like an absolute retard, but what is the deal with the "Let's go Brandon" slogan? It sounds fun but I cannot find a clear answer about it...

That is why a gold standard or bimetallism will only return after a major economic disaster or currency collapse. if such a thing were to happen support of a backed currency would be high i think. support of a gold standard stands at 39% in favor with 46% undecided. Its not all rainbows and unicorns though. in a economic crisis a gold backed currency cannot be inflated to combat a crash. no stimulus could be given.
Fiat currencies require honesty to operate to their full potential but due to their nature they are very susceptible to dishonest and greedy practices. Money printer go BRRRRRRRR. Gold back currency on the other hand is a solid foundation that would greatly limity the governments ability to fuck with things to their own benefit or to buy votes.
im not a expert dont take my word for anything do your own research. I mostly like gold cause shiny.

people are chanting "fuck joe biden" all over the place and at a NASCAR race a NBC reporter tried to cover for the admin by saying that they were actually chanting "lets go Brandon" it became a instant meme.

It still hasn't actually been raised, is the thing. It's been suspended, pending proper bills or December. McConnell is letting them continue to implode.

The big issue with specie is that the amount in circulation needs to expand to meet the demands of an expanding economy. After the Spanish silver mines ran dry the Roman emperors starting sweating their balls off since the Empire had a massive economic boom going on as trade routes began sprouting up all over the place thanks to the Pax Romanum. Currency debasement in order to stabilize the economy was probably the straw that broke the camel's back when it came to Elagabalus and his troonery.

I made a joke today at a meeting about doing a better job managing our data than my former state of Arizona did for their votes. Several hours later, my "joke" became even more true.
FML: I need to stop making jokes like these -- they have a bad tendency to become even more true as time goes on...

yeah this seems to be more "oh, well, gosh, dems, if you guys need a few more months to publicly fight each other then I guess we can let you have it, phew, you sure have our balls in a vice."
It’s one of the more infamous trannies. Back before we stopped bothering and created entire boards for prolific lunatics, we had to start like 4 different megathreads on Wu because they’d get to several thousand pages long and make the site wig out.
Edit: Or the threads might have just been unnavigable. I haven’t looked at the Brianna Wu shit since Deagle Nation (RIP).
I don't know. Almost every time you see live coverage in the US turn into a cussing match, the network cuts to something else. The FCC can fine them if they're broadcasting foul language and do nothing to stop it.
