>muh royalties
his boasts are comical because virtually any time real evidence surfaces, pat gets btfo. who gets called "dead wrong" in his own court case, by the judge, during proceedings.
there could be a check. who knows. imo all I can gather from him bragging about money is that he's probably sensitive to the topic right now and projecting.

We'll know exactly how many books he's sold in the past 18 months when Quisi asks for his money.

He's not totally lying about the royalty checks. I think his first book broke even, maybe his second. But those checks (which he receives once every 6 months) are smaller than your average McDonald's employee's weekly check.

As others have pointed out book royalties are paid once a book "earns out," ie sells more than production and the advance. and usually gets paid twice a year.

Given Patty here was immediately dropped by Tor following the end of that first and ONLY 3 book deal, his books likely never earned out.

Which isn't unusual... as I point out on the YA and Nosagia Chick threads, most authors lose money for publishers.

Most authors also don't have egos as big as Fatty's here either.

Making fun of his royalties is something that really gets under Pat's flabby skin. If you'll recall, it's pretty much the reason the OnA reddit community turned the spotlight from Brother Joe back onto him again in late summer 2019 and it hasn't let up since then. Pat fucking sperged out big time in a thread on the r/LoganLynn sub after someone made a post about his teenie weenie royalty checks. Sadly, there isn't any archive of this. But it's similar to his 6month long spergout on r/Autism. Basically what I'm saying is he's obese but his royalty checks are slim.

I found this comment by Pat funny. He's actually boasting about having to pay $5k to get his twitter account back. This thread was in 2019, Pat will be banned again in 2020 during the US presidential election, and will pay another $5k to get his account back again.

What a nice trip down memory lane. Funny to see that Pat's method of dealing with trolls hasn't changed one bit.

His twitter today was pretty boring again, more politi-sperging and responding to trolls. He did bash Dave Chapelle though, I hope this situation progresses in a similar fashion to his Norm tweet and he ends up in a war with black twitter.

What do you know about Angry Robot? That's who he was with before Tor. Maybe he got a smaller advance there, earned out and did better than expected before getting his 'big' contract with Tor. And that's where the likely small sum of royalties comes from?

From what I can gather, he was with Angry Robot and showed promise which landed him a 3 book, $100,000 deal with Tor. You've said you know that world so maybe you can answer. Is that kind of deal normal and based on his popularity as an author and book sales estimations is there any way he sold well enough to be making any sort of substantial royalties?

I have never, I repeat, NEVER seen one of Fatrick's books anywhere out in the wild. Not at book stores nor at libraries. I'm fairly certain he makes 99% of his sales off of e-book $1 discount sales and the other 1% when "hand sells" aka drunkenly forces his shitty book on some poor bartender as a 'tip'. He's a very good hand-seller, child.

That's another thing. How many author's go around 'hand selling' their books? Is it common? It sounds tacky as fuck and would be annoying to have some fat sweaty guy made out of ham trying to sell you a book based on his gay imagination.

Holy shit. Someone actually saved that? I'll be damned. That's literal Pat history right there. If he hadn't shown up to argue for no reason I truly believe this thread wouldn't exist and most likely not the forums as well. Or the forums would be dedicated to Joe Cumia and Pat's life would be 100x better and $23,739.25 richer. He'd still be fat, tho.

There also wouldn't be anyone talking about his books let alone reviewing them.

Quite common actually
That article describes a bookseller in a bookstore, not an author in a bar. If I go into a bookstore, I'm in the market for a book. If I go into a bar, I'm in the market for a drink, not a close encounter with a sweaty, fat author.

Just don't sit too close to him, child.

But seriously, I've seen a picture of an unfortunate bartender smiling sheepishly with one of Pat's books in his hands as Pat forcibly takes a photo for the whole internet to see. So I know for a fact that Pat does hock his books at bars.

In practice it works anywhere, but the buyer as you said has to be in the mindset to buy such a thing in the first place. Back in the day you would hear about street "venders" selling books on the streets of New York. You wouldn't buy from them unless they were annoying and wanted them to go away or if you were actually interested in having something to read. I've been to a few street art shows that have self published authors sell their wares because they always order several boxes of their books when they should maybe only buy one or two. When I go to such things I'm interested in the art.

I've also heard of book events at cafe's and restaurants but never at a bar or even a pub.

Here I thought handselling was like that annoying Jewish twit giving hand jobs in the bathroom of TGIFridays in that Horrible Bosses movie.

Every bad thing that happens to this unbearable faggot is deserved

That pic always cracks me up. Normal people go to bars to drink and socialize. Sad alcoholics go to a bar to drink alone and "work" on their next non-selling tome and get angry when someone sits next to them and says hello.
He's there so often he thinks its home and he's impressing people by looking important and busy. Reminds me of Colin Quinn rightfully shitting on Jimmy for bringing his laptop to the club and sitting in back writing his novel, annoying everyone who saw it, and Jim tried to say it was because it prevented him from looking at porn. "No one cares about your process."
I'm sure Pat made up the part about her trying to talk to him as well which makes his creepshot of her all the more hilarious. I hope someone someday accidentally "spills" a drink (preferably Pat's own) on his laptop as they sit next to him.
And doesn't that look like Twitter on his screen?
