Yeah, this is part of the willful ignorance around vtubers I can't stand. There's nothing wrong with someone wanting to be informed about a roommate before emotionally investing in her so they can avoid being burned later. And don't pretend it doesn't happen, try as you might; this is idol-culture adjacent, emotional attachment is part of it, even for people who never spend a dime. Just as there's nothing wrong with emotionally investing within reason, there's also nothing wrong with wanting to avoid the disappointment that comes with someone like Monkeyism showing their true colors.
And this chick throws off so many of these warning signs, why take the chance? It's not like there isn't already hundreds of vtubers for you to watch, why defend this fruitcake's opportunity to disappoint people when there's so many other great characters to watch already? The people tossing out false equivalencies because people want to be informed about this chick as if they want to drive a stake through her heart are the apologists I think need to take a step back. You don't know her personally, you have no reason to defend her, so let people try to be informed about her and what we DO know about her, especially on a website dedicated literally to becoming informed about nutcases. It isn't a personal attack on you that she's being criticized, so if people dunking on Nina has you going to bat for her in here, I'd strongly recommend changing tabs and coming back later, because you might be on the wrong website; you'll be glad that you did.
