If a Japanese company understands that it is part of their culture to attract and cater to schizos with deep wallets, then policies that protect that relationship are more reasonably put in place to uphold that.

In the West, though they exist, they are shunned in practically every community and there aren't really any instances of companies leaning into them to maintain business. The biggest American/British girlbands/boybands openly dated and they were usually with other celebrities a normal deluded fan couldn't possibly compare to. There isn't a historic culture of giving these people the time of day, so Phase Connect doing it sticks out like a sore thumb.

@Moth Enjoyer pretty sure a similar vtuber was posted here a few months back. Tried looking through to see if it was the same one but looks like it's a different vtuber altogether. Or the real answer being they are lying and a karma whore as per your average redditor and also I remember reading about how some writers would use the AITA subreddit to see if the characters they wrote would come across as assholes which is why the highest voted ones on the subreddit come across as pure fiction, because they are.
