Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

May be a regional thing, but my experience has been the complete opposite. Pretty much all the people I knew who originally were all-in on Biden now fucking despise him and want him and his shithead administration gone, and that goes beyond the usual Dem derps, there's DSA types I know and oldschool Jackson progressives, that, if anything, hate this administration even more.

One thing that helps a lot is to find a way to get a chance to talk to them in an environment free from Social Media. Make them comfortable enough to let their thoughts be known and you'll find a lot of them don't actually believe what they're preaching. The TRUE BELIEVERS, however, love this lockdown shit, because it gives them power you'd never see them have otherwise.

And so he has a manager and an agent in LA and they send him castings,” Bernardino said. “This was a casting call, a very specific one where he had to write essentially a monologue about what he’s really passionate about and he wrote a monologue about the environment.”


He added, “The producer of the series came back to him and asked him to write three questions that he’d ask a very important person ... after that, he had a live Zoom interview with the producer of the series and then he got the part.”

over here we had a massive parliament breach (twice I think actually) because people, politicians maybe even more so, are fucking morons. one attack vector I remember being talked about were open USB ports everywhere because "it's was convenient" and "that's what higher-ups requested", which it's almost always what it boils down to.

mail servers had the ability to strip out attachments and links in emails for decades, you can probably guess why that isn't common policy.

the thing about linux is that you have to differentiate between server and workstations. but even on the desktop linux does a better job at keeping permissions separate, while windows is still designed to run everything as (local) administrator, whether you want to or not (can't really blame microsoft for that one, it's not like they didn't try, maybe not always successful, but the motivation was there).

every action has an equal and opposite reaction. most of the time this is just 2 terms dems, then 2 terms republicans and life goes on. other times shit gets so bad people are willing to do bad shit to stop it.
the thing to remember is everyone got a breaking point, normies included, and a reaction doesn't mean going on a killing spree. how difficult would it be to pipebomb someone specific in minecraft or fuck with local infrastructure like the power grid? how much damage could a single guy (or gal, this is current year after all) with enough righteous anger do before getting caught, if he or she gets caught at all? even a rabbit will get feral when threatened and cornered, and the more rabbits you fuck with the more often it happens, it's simple statistics. that's why you want everyone fed and entertained to stay complacent, the romans figured that out 2000 years ago, but probably weren't the first.

societal norms, including democracy, only work if everybody agrees to it, erode that compromise or break that agreement (like messing with elections) and shit can go bad quite suddenly.

it's the exact same situation with "and then for no reason at all" - after 8 years of black jesus' hope and change, on top all the other shit that has piled up, people were pissed enough to vote for someone outside the system, which otherwise simply wouldn't have happened. same way people gonna vote (or get into power by other means) anyone if they think he might be able to do a better job, and depending how shit life is at that point the means to accomplish that will be on an equal scale.

that's why I always find it funny when people say "that totally couldn't happen today!", as if we're so much more enlightened and "informed" compared to germany 80 years ago, just because majority of people have their eyes glued to a smartphone. there certainly wasn't an evolutionary leap I missed, which means people (including you and me) are still the same dipshits they were 80 or 800 years ago.
what's worse is when people miss how fucking good the nazis were at some things, which these days you aren't allowed to point out because every bad guy can only ever be a doubly digit iq redneck like in hollywood movies. you can bet your ass any modern hitler will use the current structures to his advantage, and given how centralized everything is that shit is probably easier than ever. no one is immune to propaganda, least of all the people that think they're so much smarter.
