I guess maybe they could pull it off without to much backlash if was super early and they didn't have much of a following or fanbase. Like if within a few weeks of debut, Kiara had a total meltdown that got her fired maybe they could just hire someone else to play her.
There's precedent for this and they didn't even attempt to salvage the character after the termination.

I imagine terming a vtuber is a massive legal hassle because of all the parties involved, so they'd rather just go scorched earth than recast. They'd also be out of their mind to try and swap the talent while pretending nothing happened when there's so much scrutiny over everything these girls do.

Hypothetical question for you guys:
If your favorite hololive member's voice changes one day, and you find out she's replaced with a different streamer playing the same character, how upset would you be on a scale of "meh" to "autistic meltdown"?
I'll take one Highly Improbable Hypothetical Austitc Meltdown please!

Edit: lol, ninjaed
Get jinxed, faggot. DMing you my address for that coke.

They'd also be out of their mind to try and swap the talent while pretending nothing happened when there's so much scrutiny over everything these girls do.
Would it change this scenario at all if it wasn't duplicitous? Like if they were completely transparent about it, and it was in a short amount of time after debut, would people swallow it?

While this does follow what's seemingly Ninisani's principles of how you're not supposed to be watching everyone, simply choosing your favorites and then steadily branching out (or using one of those multistream websites if you're insane), that applies to JP having well over a hundred members; EN doesn't even have a tenth of that yet, so it's probably way too early for a clash this big to be happening so soon. They really might want to sync up and at least somewhat spread it out more; this is only gonna happen more over as more waves happen, whether the male wave, or a possible 5th wave if they wanna top if off with a mixed one.
now ppl finally realised why most of niji vtuber are "literally who" because their stupid approach which is debut as many as possible in a short times and this is the result "too many to watch" or straight up "too many to give a FUCK" and nijifag that complain "why u guys dont watch or give niji a try??", if they dont have like 20 in a 6 months then ppl might give them a chance, look at holo EN,5 member for ENTIRE YEAR,even INA the most chill one can build a solid fanbase with that amount of times and take advantages of being part of "big company/agencies",otherwise whats the point joining big agency, get cut big time if the company dont give u "full exposure" and "full time management"??,having HUNDREDS of member, yeah no way u got the full advantages of being part of that big agency.

niji principles only good for one thing, their only ass as a "company"(they are truly a black company for a reason),from company side, their "quantity over quality" absolutely make sense, MORE VTUBER=MORE MONEY,for vtuber? its THE WORST,but i get it,im not stupid, this vtuber, specially in niji one aiming for "short time" not long one,so its fine if they soon end up being that one of the "literally who".

dont get me wrong, again im not stupid,im fully aware, their approach is really good for jp scene, but for EN/global less member in short time is better well holo already show it perfectly.

Maybe, but it's hugely circumstantial. I wasn't around for the Aloe drama, but even just reading what went down, the situation seems sad as fuck in a way that I can't imagine how you would you resell the character after the whole ordeal. She made a technical mistake, got doxxed, got harassed, and then got terminated in the span of about half a month. I'd be so tone deaf if Cover was like, "haha that sure was messy okay here's a new actress wearing Aloe's skin!" Not only are the fans of the original actress going to be upset she's being screwed over, the new actress is in a super awkward position because she's thrust into the middle of controversy that has nothing to do with her and essentially has to do damage control to recover art assets.

The only hypothetical situation I could see this working in is if an actress immediately cracks under pressure, but tries to arrange a passing of the torch without breaking contract so all the effort doesn't go to waste. All parties involved would have to get together and give public approval that this is really in everyone's best interest that they want to try again with someone else. Even then, it's such a rocky start to a vtubing career that I don't know if anyone would want to step up to the role.

I can understand your perspective and agree with a lot of it generally. I can also however understand if they would like to try things differently, as Hololive is already established as the #1 and anything they do will gain massive attention regardless. Meanwhile Nijisanji is significantly smaller, while they certainly do have their own fanbase, I think they are trying to do a lot of things in a short period of time to make a lot of noise and keep people talking about them. If they're releasing many new talents, then there is always a big event happening within their group. The more people who talk about Nijisanji, the more relevant they are because people continue to discuss them. Word of mouth.

In the short term, I completely agree that having so many talents debut within months of each other makes it hard for the branch overall to develop a strong relationship with their fans like how HololiveEN has done it. I think Nijisanji is operating on long-term opportunities; they don't want immediate growth right this very second, they want to get people talking about Nijisanji and have so many things going on that if at any time someone wanted to give them an honest try, there will no doubt be something for them.

I could be mistaken about a few things because I generally watch Hololive, this is just my impression and if it truly is the way Nijisanji is working, I can respect that. Niji is certainly bigger than people in the indie scene so it's an unfair comparison, but just imagining from the perspective of indies having to compete with these overwhelmingly popular Vtubers to gain a crumb of recognition gets me thinking about what strategies different talents/agencies/indies use to even get their name out there and start people talking about them, and that perspective helps me sympathize a little bit with how Nijisanji's doing it.

Definitey wouldn't work. People (including me) like these girls for their personalities. If they were placed then instead of being exaggeration of someone's behavior it'd be just someone 100% acting. It wouldn't be the same, I'd definitely unsubscribe because the appeal would be lost.

Ame Roboco En tour started, in case people are interested.
These two were so cute together, and at the end they talked about maybe doing VR chat together. YES.

As a voice actor, that would be one of the worst things they could do especially when you take into account how the Japanese view Vas.
A character's voice is essentially their soul and when it's changed abruptly people will notice.
Just look at Matt Vogel as Kermit the Frog and how people still shit on him for sounding flimsy.
This is taking up to eleven in Japan where voice actors are basically celebrities and one passes away it's expected that the company will retire it unless it's a part of a huge franchise like DBZ or Pokemon.
Even Kiara for all her detractors has a dedicated fan base and if one day she pops up sounding completely different people are going to notice and the shock waves are going to be felt throughout the community.

Imagine if Gura was swapped out and the beginning of this transition was like "A! Apex Predator of Hololive English, Gawr Gura here. I'm feeling very hydrodynamic today! Shahahahahaaarrrrk!" Such a shoe-horned corporate recasting would make my brain drain out through my nose.

My question was purely hypothetical, and I really don't think anyone will be replaced, but Gura is THE face of Vtubing. Also, probably one of the most marketable anime girls in America. Letting that go to waste if she quits would be a massive loss, so they would probably do something about it.

I wonder if they would try to artificially create a Gura-like "new mascot" character if she does leave. Maybe even introducing a character who is "Gura's long lost sister" or something dumb. They could also try pushing Ame or someone to the front of marketing to have another cover girl (no pun intended).

As far as the english speaking audience yeah, her only competition for that is Coco. And I do mean Coco not Kson, because while i understand her reasons for leaving Cover she isn't ever going to be as important as Kson as Coco was.

This doesn't mean Gura is the best V-Tuber, because that is subjective based on what you like or don't like. But i would defiantly say she is the face.

I'd say she probably is as far as the western audience goes.

Im talking about in general. Whenever I think of VTuber I think of Kizuna Ai. Regardless of how her relevancy, amount of live viewers or Sub are at now the "Face of Vtuber" is still probably her.

Not for those falling down the rabbit hole in late 2020-current year, when EN side of chuubas is developed enough.
If anything it'd be Gura/Mousey/Nyanners/Melody, I'd say.

At one point in time I probably would have agreed with you but things are much more unclear nowadays, I'm not sure any single tuber really can really claim that title.
Now the community is a lot more fragmented into niches so we may not see a Queen of All Vtubing ever again.

This, unironically. Not for some cuck thing, but because someone who is IRL hot pretending to be "just like you simps" feels manipulative and fake. It is a turn off and makes me not want to watch them. Outside of possible sex abuse history (Kiara) or being abnormally gross IRL despite being hot (Gura), pretending you are a some sort of 25-year-old virgin who "uwu never even seen a penis uwu" is a fast way to make me lose interest. If I wanted to be insulted and lied to like that, I'd watch western egirls.
Did Gura do anything particularly out there IRL?

niji is already big before holo(i watch nui from niji before holo and ofc its only one because i valued "entertaining" as the most important,if its not,im not gonna waste time on it,now its pekora the only one im truly watch fully for a reason i think most ppl agreed with)
its not "niji try something different" its the opposite, holo is doing something different
-idol vtuber, they cant compete with niji just being another "vtuber agency" even though its just a joke basically
-they go for china which is work with their "idol" stuff quite successful but u know what happen
-then EN for their true goal,"global audience"

niji is like that and they are fine with it,BUT,for the vtuber?? nope, niji IN,their "original" NIJI EN got thrown out of the window why? simple they didnt "PROMOTE" that shit, because they dont care, now they are ACTUALLY CARE,yet they still going with basically "we take and debut as much as possible a PREVIOUSLY VTUBER,whether they succeed or become LITERALLY WHO,we dont care, good luck" thats niji for u.ofc those nijifag will DENY it like those gachikoi deny their idol have a normal life outside of vtubing.

Watame's first concert is going live in half an hour.
Poorfags can watch the first half an hour for free on her channel.

Kiara's also doing a watchalong.
