Conventions were a different animal in the past,it was pretty awesome to be around people who shared the same interests. Joking & having fun all weekend long, weebing out with each other. Rabid feminist, lgbtq & Toxic liberals have infected most cons like a cancer. I had been attending this con for years and it was unrecognizable from 2019. When I was walking to the parking garage one of those Christians who hand out pamphlets(not the god hates fags ppl, just regular Christians) tried to give a cosplayer one and she refused and the church lady asked " is it OK if I pray for you then?" The cosplayer hatefully responded "haha nope I'm an atheist witch I'd rather burn" thats just one of many autistic events I witnessed.
Being an edgy atheist is no longer as "charming" as it was. When you become a more condescending asshole than a diehard preacher, or you always were all along, that's where I have more sympathy for fundies.

The ironic part? Had the paradigm been back to when fundamentalism was mainstream, that same "witch" girl would be eager to burn heretics. They have no principles or integrity. They're largely one of the main reasons why fundamentalism got so out of hand in the first place.

By the way, in this economy, why would a con even be essential financially? I imagine even the most well off con goer would have second thoughts in regards to that.

I think I've reached the point where I'm done with cons, while at a con over the weekend I was struck with a moment of clarity, maybe it was when I was browsing through overpriced manga and figures and watched as adults older than myself rushed tripping over each other to meet lemillions VA, handing fistfuls of cash over for the privilege, maybe it was when I walked past artist alley and seen a sign begging for donations for gender reassignment,or obese cosplayers whining about how the skinny girl placed over them, perhaps it was the fact the con had actually posted a friendly reminder that congoers remember to shower that made me stop and think "what the fuck am I doing here"
While I have had my share of seeing cringe and retards, I can say I have not yet experienced a lot of this (thank god). I personally would still go cause there are a lot of neat things to look at and sometimes fun panels. Some things I want I can sometimes get cheaper at a con (yes, that includes adding the badge price into the overall sales). I rarely buy anything at the artist tables, neat pins or such I might consider. Plus, for me, I get to visit another city and check it out as well. But as you said in other posts, a rabid infestation has taken over so the overall experience will turn to mud. Personally I wouldn't mind going to another one, because I enjoy the eye candy and visiting other cities.

I used to go to cons frequently from 2010-2015, then sometime after the Funimation Gamergate line incident I began to lose interest and by the time I decided to go to one last con in 2018 I realized that the enjoyment was gone and it was time to move on.

I havent been to a con in years. It got so bad here that the giant ones became spend 100 bucks plus to get a photo wth th e same stars showing up ever.y 6 months. The pass fee was insane and I could get what I wanted off the net easier for less. The cons in the early 90's were so different and fun.

MarcFBR doesn't have his own section here...Someone on here said that multiple people have had issues with him being rude, aggressive and abusing his power. I'm curious who all dealt with him and what he did. I know it is very random that I would bring him up now but I was waiting for the site restriction to be over so I could make an account as I had no one to refer me...lol . But yeah, that shit he pulled over Vic being mentioned on the WTW site is petty. "That fucking pedo does not get mentioned on this site." Perhaps Marc needs his own section>? Anyone think so?
He's an unhinged hardcore Digimon Adventure fan who banned a huge amount of his forum goers for making fun of Digimon Adventure Tri (The worst Digimon anything created; Young Hunters had the crossover finale at least, Kizuna was shorter loldrama, and 2020 despite being way too braindead could be fun every now and then). He also railed against Konaka during that Tamers Drama CD 2021 outrage from weirdos.

I wonder if she'd feel that way if she woke up in hell 🤷

I've heard of this guy before. He definitely needs more discussion here.

Who cares how many were in her room? Most popular well known VAs can fill up a room fairly easily. I'm tired of this argument. The more you gawk at Monica and Jamie's lines and rooms the more you invite these people to attack you. Just shut the fuck up like Vic has asked for multiple times and support who you want to support. It's not that hard.

It's not hard, but it's funny. Vicspeds vs KVtards is great.

Keep in mind that the convention photo BT showed was from a My Hero Academia convention, so it's not really Monica fans specifically. They're fans of the character that she voices.

Also, as previously mentioned on the last page, most of the normies have stopped attending anime cons because of the different kinds of "people" who attend them (Such as artists begging for Gender Reassignment Surgery money, for example). These are the types of people who while not openly KickVic would support it regardless.

I hate to be that guy but even if Vic wins his lawsuit, it will never be the same again. Funimation, mentally ill fujoshis and vindictive VAs drove him away. He'll still be around doing other types of acting work and making small time appearances that will be successful for him but his days working in the mainstream dubbing industry are gone. To quote the man himself about working on DBZ:

"It was a privilege to voice Broly."

Why do you think he said "privilege"? Because that's all it was at the end of the day. He got to voice a major character in a popular series. Most people like Vic only get those entertainment opportunities once in a lifetime, especially if you have open christian conservative beliefs. He got not just one but TWO of those if you include Fullmetal Alchemist.

Do you want to know why leftists like the ones who work at Funimation/despise Vic use terms like white privilege? They're trying to project that onto everyone else because that's what describes them completely. They work at a company with a monopoly in anime distribution/dubbing and has the rights to several popular titles. On top of all that, they're all friends with each other so they're immune from being fired even when they do a shoddy/mediocre job at dubbing and act like assholes on social media. They only get kicked out when they can't defend them anymore like Chris Thurman, Scott Freeman etc.

TL;DR: Vic was grateful for the opportunities he had while his spoiled co-workers take it for granted.
