Jessi/Dami whatever is obviously a really fucked up young adult. I rewatched the Chris Hanson video earlier this year and you can just tell Jessi is not right by the shit they sprout.
I 100% believe they were abused by that nonce from BOTDF to the fullest extent they disclosed- but I think the whole situation has been warped in their mind by all the trauma and the age this happened to them. They've got a track record of being a compulsive liar but its highly likely this is due to the trauma of all the abuse they've endured. I also think they take bits out of others stories (from other aspects of their lives or from other survivors stories). It is possibly they also retrospectively give things new meanings so they can make sense of everything that happened to them, some of which might make sense but some of it is absurd.
I remember they told a bs story about hanging out with Dahvie and how they got into the music and their friends in the scene (at 10/11). It just...didn't make sense. They made it sound like it was a grooming gang or something who were pushing BOTDF CDs on children at elementary school. When it is massively more likely that Jessi was one of the many underage kids on MySpace and discovered them as a local band and got into the scene etc due to massively randomly adding anyone and talking to anyone, including adults who probably groomed them online initially. They probably had a few friends their age who were also into alternative subculture thing and they might've met slightly older kids (ie 13/14) who they'd bum around with and these older kids probably knew older kids who also knew older kids, making it easier for predators to blend in with them. It makes sense Jessi did get to hang out with BOTDF at least once or twice, esp if they were local but I don't think this was a regular occruance. I believe they probably did feel singled out as a prodigy but I think the "wah he stole all the songs I wrote as a gifted child" stuff. Thats just fabrication cos he did steal lyrics and music from others and made that song mocking him. Jessi wasn't special to him, none of his victims were, the hate with Jessi was just more public because the situation was itself very public.
The thing about Jessi's apology video as well is clearly bs. For those that don't know, they claim "friends of Dhavie" at their school FORCED them to do an apology by sticking a camera in their face. When... no. That is just absurd. Jessi went offline for safeguarding issues bc the whole internet was after them. It probably wasn't their choice and when Jessi did return online they didn't lie low. They weren't allowed to use the internet so got a friend to upload a video for them. The video was an apology bc even though Jessi was the victim, the narrative was very cruel and hostile to them, they felt like they were in the wrong. That's it. It probably took a few years for Jessi to go "oh fuck yeah that all was fucked up, I'm not the bad guy for being a vulgar kid online" bc the whole internet made Jessi feel like being raped and abused, by the emo pedo, their dad and probably other people, was on them.
And don't get me started the way they now romanticise their dad and act like BOTDF fans/4chan was the reason they were taken away and that their white passing trailer trash dad was discriminated against for being "brown".
Jessi grew up online like a lot of that generation with jaded abusive parents who didn't give a fuck about what they did. That explains why there is possibly other people who they had inappropriate relationships with and why their relationship with nonce musician who they worshipped didn't feel weird.
That's enough rambling for now...Will edit for typos or whatever later.
