I used to work with a woman who didn't trust sunscreen. I always thought she was nuts, and I told her she was nuts regularly at work. Quite a few years later I heard a random article mentioning that they did a study on sunscreen active ingredients, and found that they got into peoples blood at much higher levels than previously thought. The reason why this is interesting is because if the numbers were assumed to be low enough, then they may have not done some toxicology studies on the products. Fast forward another year to 2020 and the FDA is still looking into the matter, and awaiting information/data on the "systemic carcinogenicity and additional developmental and reproductive studies."
Is UV a carcinogen, yes. What do I choose now for sun protection when I'm outside for hours? Sunscreen or longer clothing, and a wider hat? I will let you guess. Kind of blows me away that something considered so safe, wasn't really tested so rigorously for safety.

Sadly I can't go too far: Despite my own relatives dying of COVID in DR, a relative that voted Trump and thinks he's more American texted my uncle and ranted against COVID. My uncle blocked his number and Facebook, and surprise, I think he also got COVID.
Even religious idiots have their word about COVID: The crazy Pentecostal woman literally said: "COVID-19" is one of the Plagues from the Bible in the Book of Revelation. Her own daughter went to take a vacation to the DR, she and her friend went huggy and they got COVID. To this day I wonder if she spews that to her daughter after being infected. Her family also got infected twice via a relative that decided to crash, and same relative blamed not herself, but the Crazy Pentecostal's grandson: "It's his fault; he contacted it from Puerto Rico". and is one of those idiots that will breastfeed in public.
