Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Hochul to appeal federal judge’s ruling allowing religious exemptions for health care workers

Gov. Kathy Hochul says the state will appeal a ruling made by a federal judge on Tuesday that allows health care workers to seek religious exemptions from the statewide COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

"When someone is sick and they go into an urgent center, they go into a hospital, they are in need of help because they are in a vulnerable physical state,” Hochul says. “They need to know that the person taking care of them will not pass on this deadly virus to them or their family members. And that has been the whole objective behind this mandate.”

The governor says the state is already in the process of working on the papers for the appeal, as well as with the attorney general's office.

Hochul, de Blasio: Incarcerated women, trans individuals to be transferred out of Rikers

Gov. Kathy Hochul and Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Wednesday that the state and city will transfer nearly all women and trans-identified individuals incarcerated on Rikers Island into different facilities.

Nearly 230 individuals will be moved to Bedford Hills Correctional Facility and the Taconic Correctional Facility, both state-run facilities in Westchester County.

"The situation on Rikers Island is grave and complex, and thus requires bold action from all levels of government to deliver change," Hochul said.

This comes after Hochul signed the Less is More Act, which aims to prevent unnecessary detentions at Rikers, as well as an executive order to expand remote hearings for detainees.

"New York City is committed to forging a fairer, more humane justice system," said de Blasio. "I'm proud to work with Gov. Hochul on this initiative, which will provide important relief for the situation on Rikers.”

The incarcerated individuals will be transferred starting the week of Oct. 18.

He's not a terror, don't get me wrong! I enjoyed his Presidency more than any other in my lifetime.

I think his heart was in the right place, in the future we will have someone in the position without a heart at all, someone who will exploit our system in a Machiavellian fashion. Biden isn't it.

Bloomberg and Steyer didn't want it as badly as Trump. At best, it was a lark; something to do to pass the time and get press for themselves and their pet causes. Trump actually fucking wanted to be President and didn't fuck around leaving corpses in the wake of his quest for the nomination.

She didn't want Trump to win. At best, she thought she could cheat/skate to victory socially engineering via proxies Trump getting the nomination on the guise that Trump would be an easy opponent to beat and totally misreading the room that the bloom had fallen off the progressive left flower and that people were fucking pissed off at the Democrats for the fact that shit was still bad in America after eight years of Obama. Also, the entire DNC was geared towards the goal of the Clinton Restoration complete with Hillary being promised the Presidency to prevent her from divorcing Bill's ass in the ultimate form of vote of no-confidence in the summer of 1998, which had she left him, would have sealed Bill's fate and caused him to be removed from office as a result.

Standard story excusing Hunter being a fuck-up is that his drug addiction and debauchery is residual emotional trauma from his mom's death fucking him up as a kid; IIRC Hunter was in the very same car crash that killed his mom and may have also suffered brain damage causing him to be have zero impulse control, hence him doing crack and fucking women he shouldn't.

Rumored story is that Joe was an abusive parent and that Hunter in particular caught the worst of it. And that as a result, Joe has been both trying to buy Hunter's silence AND his love retroactively by spoiling him rotten as an adult and basically protecting him from the consequences of his bullshit and enabling his beyond the pale behavior as well.

Got my annual checkup today. Doc asked about COVID vaccines. Here's how it went:

Doc: "Have you gotten COVID shots yet?"

Me: "No."

Doc: "I would really like it if you got COVID shots today."

Me: "No thanks, I'm waiting until Novavax."

Doc: "OK, let me know if you change your mind."

And that was it. Easier than I thought it was gonna be, not gonna lie.
