Cosplay Yumi King / Yuhan Zhang - very elegant sexy gorgeous rich girl design

Yumi has just posted her first video about the divorce.
yumi still looks cute and i hope she finds the guy of her dreams. i feel bad for her because she obviously got taken advantage of, and now she’s a single mother. at least she has youtube to fall on, and whatever job she’s working now.

Yumi's video is choppy and difficult to follow, but when she mentions her current "job," she means she is making videos for Youtube and Patreon. She is also thinking of selling more of her clothes online.

It's great that she's prioritized her child's needs over her ex's evident creepy desire for a 24/7 racialized ddlg and pet play fetish lifestyle, but her ongoing preoccupation with being an internet personality is concerning.

On one hand, Yumi's reluctance to pursue a job outside the home is understandable. She's the sole caregiver for a baby at a moment when many American parents are reluctant to expose their young children to germs in a day care setting; on top of that, child care facilities have long waitlists, are raising prices, or shutting down entirely. Like many parents, her options are limited.

But rather than waking up very early in the morning to create video content for Youtube and Patreon - by her own admission, this does not bring in very much money - Yumi would be better served by using that time to update her skill set, refine her portfolio, and apply for actual jobs in her field of study. Her "A Mom's Life" channel is completely moribund - the most popular videos are the bizarre eating fetish videos she made with her ex - and her main channel's viewership has fallen drastically since her peak as a cute cosplay and diy vlogger. Her Patreon brings in at most $280/month before taxes.

Meanwhile, she has a degree in computer engineering earned while she was still living in China, and she graduated with a bachelors degree in interactive media design from the University of Washington in 2017. There are many jobs she can do from home that will pay her more than youtube as she works toward an actual career - for guidance, she could reach out to her former professors and mentors, or seek advice from her alma mater's Career and Internship Center, which offers career coaching and networking opportunities for its alumni.

Yumi's fantasy of making a living as an internet personality left her vulnerable to manipulation by her weirdo ex, and it still seems to be impeding her ability to make good life decisions.

She could just be flailing right now.

I mean I think all of us saw splenda would bounce as soon as the attention wasn’t 100% on him and he’d have to do more than order shit online. Seems like she didn’t.

She’s holding on to some of her dream life and hopefully it’s going to set in she needs to do something else. It’s a fresh new wound. I can get it.

I hope someone encourages this girl to get some therapy. She has a baby to care for now, and her current “work” situation is not going to be enough to keep her afloat. Therapy might pull her out of her delusion.

Fun fact: Trisha Paytas commented on Yumi's video and sent her a donation lol

I'm actually kind of sad for Yumi. Her content is extremely embarrassing, but it really seemed like she was at least living her best life and was enjoying herself and being a houswife, and now she has to figure out being a single mom on her paltry patreon income. The more mature look is actually really cute on her when she's not in cosplay and I hope she sticks to it. Now she just really needs to get off of YouTube and focus on her kid. People are suggesting work from home options for her, such as teaching Chinese classes and she seems to be seriously interested in that. She explicitly says in one of her vlogs that she is aware that youtube is not a stable income for a mother, and that she needs a full time job to support him once he starts preschool. She really really seems to be putting her son first in a way that really warms my heart.

I hope she can find some friends with other single moms or something, these vlogs since the divorce announcement are all kind of the stuff you would talk to your friends about, it's mostly her thinking out loud about how she wants to support her son, how hard it is to shower when you're caring for a baby, etc.

I'm really really rooting for her and her baby, as hard as this is it seems like the divorce and baby have really been good for her. Getting optimistic about cows is kind of risky but I really hope for the best for her.

I agree with y'alls feelings... but...

I've been watching all her new videos since she confirmed the divorce, and now it's all she talks about... the money struggles, asking for patreon support, leaving donation links, etc as someone crying over the spilled milk but not doing anything to fix it. I'm afraid this is her tactic and we might be getting a donation campaign or something done by her soon. I really wonder if she's saying the truth or not when she claims she wants to work and gain the money for her family... or if she's just too used to get all paid for her and will just try to milk her supporters as much as possible.

What do yall think?

I feel like Yumi is the kind of person who doesn't really know how to do many things herself. She's a first generation immigrant who was married to someone who infantilized her and probably handled all the complicated adult stuff. She's genuinely lost right now and social media is the only thing she really knows how to do. She has a very young child to take care of and not much of a support system. As long as money and sympathy will keep appearing out of nowhere, she doesn't really have a reason to look into a different career. She might be genuinely interested to do something else for a living but I doubt she has the drive to give it a shot. YouTube is pretty much the only piece of comfort zone she has left at this point.

Yeah, well, I got my hopes up a bit much. She decided rather than find an actual job teaching Chinese, she's just going to do so through Youtube/patreon. I actually really understand her not being able to afford to put her child in daycare--in some places childcare can cost more than a person might earn on minimum wage--and many places won't take a baby that young. She's in a really tough position! and I honestly understand her wanting to make YouTube work, it seems like a fun way to make money for people who get lucky and can earn a living from it. But she's simply not getting by on it. Her Chinese language videos get a fraction of the views as her vlogs and other content, I don't think she gets that people are mostly there to gawk because she's a lolcow or because they fetishize her.

Kind of makes me think of Venus a little. Venus was just really committed to putting her entire life online and just sort of self-destructed when she really just needed to focus on her life and be in therapy for a bit. I'm still kind of hoping she figures out that her YouTube can't really be more than extra spending money, at least for awhile, but we'll see.

Unlike Venus, though, Yumi has a: A college degree (Venus dosent even have a GED iirc?) b: a supportive family to rely on and c: a relatively normal childhood as a foundation.
She may crash and burn a little but she won't go down like the Hindenburg the same way Venus is currently doing.

Not crash and burn completely, but she's still pretty fucked. A degree in itself is completely useless if you do nothing with it. At this point she'll be competing against people who have close to a decade of work experience on her. Would you hire a single mother who spent her twenties making fetish videos and did little else with her life or some random normie who has their feet firmly planted on earth and has proven that they know how to get a job done? Or maybe even some random kid who also has zero experience but just got their degree, classes still fresh in mind, motivated as fuck and eager to get to work?

DAAAAMN i haven't checked in on yumi since PULL was still up and running. the video she's reacting to was one of the first ones i ever saw of hers. how times have changed! we really are experiencing the aftermath of an ended internet era, aren't we?
anyway i'm not surprised that creepy ass senior citizen dipped the moment she had a kid, but i am surprised by how different she is now. i kind of feel bad for her, she looks so exhausted. but lowkey the mom look really does suit her.
hope she has good support systems in her family around to help her with the kid.
