This is one of the many times where I have seen George Takei position himself at the forefront of the troon defense squad. What does George have to gain from doing this? Both him and his husband have spoken out about Dave Chappelle’s “controversial” comments.

I suspect that George Takei is divorced from the reality of troon ideology. He is a married, older gay man. So, I’m assuming that his interaction with younger LGBT individuals and modern LGBT culture is severely limited. If he was a younger, single gay man who has to navigate through troon ideology and troon entitlement in the current LGBT dating scene, then he wouldn’t be nearly has supportive as he currently is.

I imagine that it is easier to be pro-troon if you’re a gay person in a long-term relationship and you associate with an established group of older LGBT people. You, unlike younger gay people, had the luxury of going to popular gay/lesbian bars to pick up gay men and women instead of men in dresses and testosterone infused women. Additionally, before troon ideology was on full throttle, you probably had the luxury of being able to use gay dating apps that were filled with sensible gay people instead of troons. Now, dating as a gay woman or man is frustrating as hell because apps are filled with mostly troons and “genderqueers” with a few
spicy straights, unicorn hunters, and the straight people on gay dating apps who are searching for friends (wtf) sprinkled into the mix.

Lol, I realized he had a website after my MATI rant and I see what his deal is. He’s trying to portray himself has an SJW with major social media influence. So, being a troon enabler is certainly going to make him popular with the Twitter (and Reddit) crowd.

I’m not as old as George, but old enough that I got taken in by trans politics because my brain was harking back to when you have to go through some pretty rigorous therapy and pre-op work to get the change done and everyone else was just a simple cross dresser. Every “trans” I met back in the 90s was generally chill and gave you more of a “big sister” vibe than creepy predator vibe. I imagine George has the same image in his head as well.

I don’t know about his LGBT activism but he’s prominent in Japanese-American circles. So that might be what they are talking about.

While I understand that you think Cuties was pedo content, it really wasn't. It was actually criticizing main stream sexualization of young girls in the West through the perspective of a young girl of color, who jumped into self sexualization as a means of popularity and fitting in.

It is shocking and disturbing, but it was legit done to make the audience think about how normal the sexualization of young girls truly is within society. If anything, it supports traditional views and not neo-liberal queer grooming culture, as is highlighted by the main character rejecting the Cuties dance group and deciding to embrace her childhood.

You can tell Takei did not watch the actual show because there is a very SJW-unfriendly joke about blacks beating up Asians in it. The troon crowd has so far ignored it because a) they don't care about anything except themselves and b) they did not watch the show either.

I'm glad it wasn't just me. I actually finished the special less transphobic than I started. The line about "I don't care if you understand me" in the Daphne story honestly gave me deep feels. He's a great storyteller; the way he mixes in shock humor while dragging his audience through different strong cathartic emotions is what puts him on a level above normal stand-up.

You can't just decide to be having "your" mental breakdown around people. You've got a responsibility to keep your emotions in check. You get some slack for being a shitty teen but that phrasing is a red flag for "I was throwing a temper tantrum and really indulging myself with no regard for consequences, and I shouldn't be blamed for that".
