I think we see takes like his newest "Dave Chappelle's views are really, TRULY, evil" ones because his audience has taken on a pretty substantial change and he's constantly feeling pressure to pander more and more to what he thinks they want to see. Just days ago I mentioned the irony in his defense of his 4chan/pornblog days being that in his words "that's what I thought the internet wanted to see at the time" when it's obvious that's exactly the strategy he's taking on now only in a different social climate. I think he sees the young audience that Hasan Piker, H3H3, and fags on breadtube cultivate and is attempting to tap into that himself while offering nothing unique and just mirroring what he notices works for them. It's not lost on me that a large part of that demo he's trying to reach and impress are young (15-28~ year old), impressionable women. I think his floundering views, nosediving relevance, and evaporating "clout" is largely responsible for this identity shift he's since adopted. On stream last night he even said that he quit making jokes about "cocaine and hookers" and is no longer going to do them. They were obviously never funny but they also weren't the kind of edgy that this corner of the internet seeks to destroy. I think he's really just adrift at sea more than anything. He's desperately scrambling to find anything that works in a frenzied panic now that he's realizing his days being known online are well and truly over.

If I’d ever write a book, I’d have a character named Steven in it. Steven would think that he is the protagonist, and would pretend to be like the protagonist (an all around good guy, who wouldn’t hurt a fly). Everyone would hate Steven and all would rejoice at his death. However, it was all his own fault, because, if Steven had just been himself, he actually would have had friends and a life. But it’s not really important, just a moral guideline. It happens at the beginning of the book and then goes on to the main story. After all, there are way more interesting things happening.
