So despite millions of vaccinated adults suffering breakthrough Covid infection we are not seeing a corresponding rise in N-protein antibodies in the screening results? Why not?

If the vaccines are preventing the immune system from producing N antibodies, even with confirmed transmission and replication, then this is a big fucking problem. LEOs and their corrections colleagues are digging in their heels and fighting mandates in multiple states.

Illinois

IL has an ongoing cluster of legal slapfights that just expanded. The Chicago PD union head, Frank Catanzara, has been urging CPD members to refuse to comply, and is threatening to sue the city. (Archive) Mayor Lightfoot has returned from visiting her ancestral village of Innsmouth to file a complaint against Catanzaro for supporting/instigating a strike by police, which is prohibited in IL. (Archive) Governor Pritzker is trying to stall the crisis and has extended the vaccine deadline for IL state employees until Oct. 26, because surely another 2 weeks will change things. (Archive)

Catanzara suggested that if the city does enforce its requirement and many union members refuse to comply with it, “It’s safe to say that the city of Chicago will have a police force at 50% or less for this weekend coming up.”

In the video, Catanzara instructs officers to file for exemptions to receiving the vaccine but to not enter that information into the city’s vaccine portal.

He said that although he has made clear his vaccine status, “I do not believe the city has the authority to mandate that to anybody, let alone that information about your medical history.”

"As Chicago’s Mayor, I cannot and will not stand idly by while the rhetoric of conspiracy theorists threatens the health and safety of Chicago’s residents and first responders," Lightfoot said in a statement. "President Catanzara has time and again deliberately misled our police officers by lying about the requirements of the policy and falsely claiming that there will be no repercussions if officers are insubordinate and refuse to follow a City and Department directive or order."

"This administration continues to work to protect vulnerable residents in our care or custody by ensuring state employees in congregate settings receive the vaccine," Pritzker's office said in a statement. "The state is pleased to have reached agreement with the INA, IFPE, VR-704, and the Trades Coalition. Under these agreements, employees in those bargaining units must now receive their first shot by Oct. 26. This allows the unions time to communicate the agreement to their members and workers to have time to get their shots. We are working diligently to reach agreement with the remaining two unions."

The latest state extension was announced Friday as Pritzker and AFSCME continues negotiations.

Over in @ddw 's neck of the woods, MA has its own legal shitstorm in progress. The state troopers have already challenged the MA state employees vaccine mandate and failed, but that's not stopping the corrections officers' union from taking another shot at it -- and failing as well (Archive). MA is preparing to pull a NY and bring in the National Guard to staff prisons if the corrections union doesn't blink. There are rumblings of discontent from the SEIU and other unions active in the state, so there may be more joining the fray soon. (Archive)

The union’s attorney James Lamond argued that Baker violated the plaintiffs’ rights to collectively bargain the terms of the vaccine requirement and their protected right to decline unwanted medical treatment. He rejected the state’s claims that the mandate did not alter the core terms of the union’s contract with respect to pay and benefits, and said the vaccine mandate was both unreasonable and unnecessary in that the state could have negotiated the terms of medical intervention to prevent the spread of a contagious disease before the COVID-19 pandemic.

The state’s attorney Jennifer Greaney argued that the union did not have a case under the Constitution because they could and are adjudicating their collective bargaining complaints before the state’s Department of Labor Relations. Further, Greaney said the governor’s order would not force anyone to be vaccinated against their will, it only made it a condition of employment that correction officers were free to leave if they didn’t want to be vaccinated.

"There hasn't been a consistent, uniform process for how these situations are going to be reviewed," said Peter MacKinnon, president of SEIU Local 509, which represents about 8,500 state workers and endorsed Baker's vaccine mandate. "What we're hearing anecdotally is that one agency is applying this set of criteria for exemption requests, whereas another agency is applying a different set of criteria. It shouldn't be that way."

"We have repeatedly pressed the state negotiators for information about the standards applied in judging requests for exemptions on medical and religious grounds," local leaders of the National Association of Government Employees told members in a blog post. "The commonwealth has been unable to give us any clear guidance regarding the criteria that will be used."

The military, utilities, scientific, and grocery sectors are also heating up with their own mandate drama.

The US Navy's mandate is kicking in, requiring full vaccination by Nov 28 or Dec 28, depending on status. Refusing to comply is a one-way trip out the door under a discharge type that isn't the greatest. (Archive)

Those who refuse the vaccine by the deadline – with the exception of those with approved medical and religious exemptions – will be relieved from duty with no lower than a general discharge under honorable conditions. This type of discharge could result in the loss of some veterans’ benefits.

The lawsuit states the company is compelling workers to get their first shot by Oct. 15. The complaint argues that mandate “constitutes the illegal practice of medicine” and says it violates the state’s public policy, which “always gives South Carolinians the choice in refusing to take a vaccine without being punished as a result of that medical choice.”

A total of 114 nuclear workers at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico have also sued ahead of the Friday vaccine deadline set by that lab’s contractor. Among them are scientists and other specialists who some employees say could be difficult to replace in the short term if fired.

Donald Brown, Jr., an attorney for the workers, told The Associated Press that anxiety is high among unvaccinated workers, many of whom have highly specialized positions and could have a hard time finding new jobs: “It’s not like you can go over to the town next door and find another nuclear contractor,” Brown said.

On the private side of the federal contractor fence, General Electric, including GE Aviation, has ordered all employees to get the COVID vax by Dec 8 or else. This doctors response (if real) comes off either two ways. He is either a true believer or someone who regrets his life choices. He comes off more of a snarky ass, who wants to justify his own decisions. There is a lot of government processes that can get overridden by slow moving paper work.

I have worked with units that solders who were considered shit going forth to another unit as they would be slow to follow up with paper work because it was to much work, look at all the fatties in the army. It is not because they were the best, it was lazy fucks who were ass at wanting to do paperwork. One location I was at there was a guy who moved on to promotion after sleeping on shift (no one would shut up about it). The only reason for promotion he lucked out not dyeing and partaking in securing a location after attacks started at his tower.

COVID anosmia isn't from a stuffy nose though, most people get it without any congestion, it's closer to a neurological thing (although the current theory is that it's not effecting neurons themselves but cells that communicate with your neurons to form your sense of smell). I thought the same thing when I first heard about it, like "Oh I've gotten that from a stuffy nose before" but it's not really like that at all and is pretty fucked up feeling to just lose one of your senses out of the blue even though you feel otherwise fine.

Lockdowns don't do much to prevent spread unless you're able to stop any and all movement of people from areas of infection to naive regions. Outside of natural islands surrounded by ocean that's physically impossible.

If I was to put my conspiratard hat on I'd view the lockdowns as a way to bully the young and not fat to accept the jabs. Boomers and death fats were always going to rush to get vaccinated as they're the only people at risk of dying. To persuade everyone else an incentive was needed, we know you're not at risk, you know you're not at risk, but get jabbed anyway and you can have your lives back. When that didn't work they moved on to mandates and passports, which they've been planning since early last year. If that doesn't allow them to hit their target they'll move to fines, forced vaccinations and internment camps. They're obviously aiming for an extraordinarily high vaccination rate, close to 100% as they can get. Eliminate the control group so they can argue that whatever fucked up events are coming have nothing to do with the vaccines.

If the UK reporting is accurate then we have a very big problem. Hopefully Delta Covid wll not be challenged by mutational pressure to avoid the vaccines altogether, if that does happen the vaccinated are completely fucked. Not only will they lose whatever protection they get from the vaccine s-protein antibodies they will be unable to produce N antibodies to fight off the virus when they get infected. The good news is it seems the vaccines are so awful at stopping transmission, likely because they provide only a very narrow and limited form of immunity, that the virus is facing little to no evolutionary pressure to mutate or if it does it will be a gradual process that the pharma companies can account for when they roll out updates. If I'm wrong then we're looking at some hard times and a lot of dead people.

We also don't know if the ability to produce N antibodies can be recovered if we stop taking the jabs. If it's correct that the vaccinated now have no ability to achieve broad, sterlising immunity from infection then the best option for them might well be to take the boosters. It's fucked up but it beats dying. We also don;t know if the vaccines are only effecting the immune system's ability to produce Covid antibodies or whether this is an issue that will effect broader T-cell immunity against seasonal flu or other circulating respiratory viruses, bacteria or cancers. If it does, and that's a big if, we're looking at the ZA.

As to was this planned? Absolutely it was, the evidence is overwhelming. Remember that governments of developed nations have been ordering billions of booster doses for their populations going into next year. These orders were placed with the vaccine makers at the end of 2020 going into 2021. Enough doses to vaccinate their entire population five times over. When they say they haven't decided on a comprehensive booster program they're lying.

BONUS! US News Roundup: Trains, Planes, and Automobiles Edition ( @borsabil 's comment about the shortages reminded me to check up on what's happening with the logistics labor world.)

Union Pacific Railroad has agreed to enact and enforce the federal vaccine mandate, as has Amtrak, Boeing, United Airlines, Southwest, American, and Jet Blue, among some other small fry. (Archive)

"As a federal contractor who ships goods supporting our nation's armed services, ... all employees are required to report their vaccination status or have an approved medical or religious accommodation by the federally mandated deadline," Union Pacific, the top U.S. railroad operator, said in a statement.

This isn't sitting well for some of the unions and individual employees who are now on the clock to get the vaccine or lose their jobs -- an unknown number of Union Pacific RR employees are planning on joining a Medical Freedom Rally scheduled for Oct 16 in Lincoln County, Nebraska to protest this decision. Nebraska Senator Mike Groene has already verbalized support for them. (Archive)

Many railroaders have voiced concerns anonymously to News 2, saying they do not blame the railroad inasmuch as their reasoning for requiring the mandates. They say, rather, they are disappointed the railroad did not “have their backs” after giving so much as employees. One employee telling News 2, “We were considered essential workers just a few short months ago. We worked all the way through this pandemic, every day, showing up and working. Now, we are told if we do not get the vaccine we will no longer have employment. It’s scary. It’s hurtful.”

Given how this involves shipping and transport of goods, you might be wondering where the Teamsters and related unions are in all this. The answer is... complicated. Some chapters are attacking the mandates as they currently stand in court, like Teamsters Local 743. (Archive)

In the latest chapter of this legal battle, the court denied the union’s motion to compel interest arbitration over the implementation of the policy, which would allow an arbitrator to make the final determination on the employer’s proposals and the union’s counter proposals. Judge Feinerman stated that the interest arbitration clause in the parties’ contract only applies to economic policies that cover wages and other employee benefits and that the vaccination policy “plainly is not of an ‘economic nature.’”

The court rejected the union’s argument that the policy was economic in nature because it affected the worker’s wages and benefits, stating that such an interpretation would encompass virtually every employee policy. Instead, the court held that only policies that relate to the manner in which TeamCare provides services to its members qualify for interest arbitration.

The Teamsters are also involved in legal action against United Airlines over the mandate. (Archive)

The union filed an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaint against United Airlines in September regarding medical and religious exemptions from the company's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The complaint accuses United Airlines of placing Teamster-represented technicians who applied for vaccine exemptions on involuntary, indefinite, and unpaid leave for up to 12 months.

But employees of the union itself are complaining about discrimination and hostility against un or partially vaccinated members, including bizarre restrictions on scheduling and even what bathrooms or elevators the employees can use. (Archive)

In an interview, Ms. McClees told The Times she applied for a religious exemption two weeks before the Sept. 20 deadline to avoid the vaccine jab. Her employer, the Teamsters, made her abide by the rules for unvaccinated employees.

“I had to alter my schedule. I have to work nights and on the weekends. I can’t use the elevator. I have to use separate bathrooms,” Ms. McClees said. “I’m not allowed to eat and drink, but in certain areas. I have to wear a mask all the time, and I no longer have the ability to telework.”

Meanwhile, at Boeing, at least two unions are already preparing to get involved in protecting their employees. (Archive)

Jon Holden, president of International Association of Machinists (IAM) District 751, wrote in the October issue of the union paper that "the reality is our members are polarized on this issue."

"It is our responsibility to defend and advocate for all our members," Holden added. And though he noted that he and his family are vaccinated, he said the union must also defend "those who can't or won't accept the vaccine."

Holden said he expects an "uphill battle" bargaining with management on the issue, but the union will stand up for "medical and religious exemptions," and that "if an exemption request is denied, we will investigate each on a case-by-case basis."

Lastly, a bonus note about healthcare workers that I'm including mostly to underscore how futile the idea of bringing in the National Guard to replace nurses and doctors is. The industry as a whole has lost over half a million employees in the past year and a half for various reasons, and there's an increasing number of strikes and protest resignations going on as vaccination deadlines start hitting. The big picture: The health care industry has lost more than 540,000 jobs between February 2020 and September 2021.

So I have an anecdote to share with the class, my aunt, my uncle, one of their daughters, and her husband recently caught the coof. My uncle is diabetic, the kind that requires daily injections, and had a liver transplant a few years ago but he's pretty much fine. They're all vaccinated with the China shit and all their cases are pretty much just a flu so that's lucky.

However, the rest of their 4 kids got the Pfizer shot and all of them tested negative. Since the start of the pandemic they all moved to their huge farm in the sticks to avoid the cities so they were all in close proximity to each other. From this case, it'd make me think that the Pfizer shot might have prevented infection. It's been about 3 months since their second dose so their protection should still be relatively good. Just an anecdote I know but still interesting to see first hand, guess the Chink shot really ain't worth shit.

If the UK reporting is accurate then we have a very big problem. Hopefully Delta Covid wll not be challenged by mutational pressure to avoid the vaccines altogether, if that does happen the vaccinated are completely fucked. Not only will they lose whatever protection they get from the vaccine s-protein antibodies they will be unable to produce N antibodies to fight off the virus when they get infected. The good news is it seems the vaccines are so awful at stopping transmission, likely because they provide only a very narrow and limited form of immunity, that the virus is facing little to no evolutionary pressure to mutate or if it does it will be a gradual process that the pharma companies can account for when they roll out updates. If I'm wrong then we're looking at some hard times and a lot of dead people.

We also don't know if the ability to produce N antibodies can be recovered if we stop taking the jabs. If it's correct that the vaccinated now have no ability to achieve broad, sterlising immunity from infection then the best option for them might well be to take the boosters. It's fucked up but it beats dying. We also don;t know if the vaccines are only effecting the immune system's ability to produce Covid antibodies or whether this is an issue that will effect broader T-cell immunity against seasonal flu or other circulating respiratory viruses, bacteria or cancers. If it does, and that's a big if, we're looking at the ZA.

As to was this planned? Absolutely it was, the evidence is overwhelming. Remember that governments of developed nations have been ordering billions of booster doses for their populations going into next year. These orders were placed with the vaccine makers at the end of 2020 going into 2021. Enough doses to vaccinate their entire population five times over. When they say they haven't decided on a comprehensive booster program they're lying.

They're not going to blink. Look at the inflation and supply shortages we're facing from the insane lockdowns and mandates, we're risking an economic depression and they don't care. Their only priority is to get jabs in arms damn the consequences.

So you are saying if you ever let even one shot into your system then your body has a chance of being weakened for the rest of your life? I know we don't have any long term data on these vaccines but even if you managed to avoid covid for a few years after having a single jab you may never produce N antibodies again?
