I actually just found the answer to my own question:
Phase Connect's cofounder Scott is the one with the cash, he had a tech startup called Pinmo that was acquired for 13 million maplebucks and now works for the acquiring company Requiti as the Head of Operation and Consultation. Kevin aka fishman was the Chief Marketing Officer at Pinmo.

What he did do was make it obvious that a mod or mods got too close leading to a falling out. The reasoning just involving Uto's personal info would be spicy enough, but it turns out that divulging the real reason would breach privacy on both sides.
This falling out is probably why Uto initially left the server, but when she heard they were going to delete it she came back to protest. I wouldn't be surprised if they strong armed her with that personal info so she would accept the deletion.

someone has to be emotionally invested to make sure the company works out until a buyer comes along. I guess if fishman cashed out from the pinmo sale he could really be doing it because he really likes vtubing. But if canada works like america when it comes to taxes, then there's no doubt he isn't sticking some of the revenue into his pockets via salary and 401k matches, executive bennies. A loss means the investors don't see a dime, meanwhile the employees/board members get the cash.
