Narrator: It was not invented to demonize black workers, although black workers were used as low-cost strike-breakers by industrial magnates acting to stoke racial tensions, suppress wages, and restrict labor protections.
My problem with this kind of shit is the use of black strike-breakers is exactly the proof that the feminist claims of "muh wage gap" aren't real, and assholes like "ComradeStalino" don't understand the equivalency, even when it's explained to them, using very small, simple words.
Person A & Person B have identical skillsets, credentials, experience related to Task X.
Person A is willing to do Task X for 1.00 units/hour wage.
Person B is willing to do Task X for 0.78 units/hour wage.
No rational business owner will hire Person A, all things being equal; they'll hire Person B, and Person A will be forced to adjust their wage expectations down to match. This only changes if additional factors are present.
I.E. - If Person A is willing to work a consistently scheduled 40 hours/week, and receives the basic mandated benefits, and Person B wants to work 32 hours/week, and wants additional benefits, flexible shift times, the ratio of hours worked is roughly 5:4, A:B. That doesn't even account for whatever additional costs are incurred to cover the costs of the additional benefits, flexible shift times, or whatever other criteria Person B deems relevant to their employment.
This is also why unchecked, undocumented immigration is a terrible fucking idea, because it leads to wage stagnation (at best), and suppression, generally. Look at the amount of Hispanics across the USA that'll do manual labor & construction work for fuck all, which essentially restricts the labor pool to those Hispanics, since no one else can afford to work for the pittances offered in those trades.
