Any idea what their reasoning is?
Like any other time an SJW is asked actually to do anything or even not do something for their alleged ideals they care so much about, they start wailing and moaning about "muh disability" and how unfair it is to expect anything whatsoever out of them other than incessant bitching.

There's no reasoning. They just REEEEEE.

Not my photo but for those asking about that before and after pic of the tranch property, here ya go.

It's getting cold out there, soon those $50 metal stairs they bought will become a slip n slide, bets on who will be the first to bust their shit open on them? Inb4 emergency GoGriftMe for hospital bills because KevKev maimed his amhole on a rare out of room appearance
Those stairs were not $50. They were at least $1000. That’s the best part. Anyone with half a brain could have built a wooden set of steps for half the price.

Jeremy Clarkson, the car guy who only started out farming for a tv show and a laugh, puts more effort and care into his farm and his animals than Penny and his slaves who claim it was their 'dream' to run a ranch.
It warms my heart to hear of someone, though incompetent and inexperienced, actually taking the time to improve his knowledge of farming and animal husbandry. Yet it also makes the tranch that much more pathetic. It's unfortunate that the animals under their "care" can't be requisitioned and given to husbandmen who know what they're doing.

A pit and tarps cost much less than $80-90k, bordering on $100 and the diesel fuel for the tractor.
I meant out of their $100k grift they could have bought/built enough shelters for ALL of the alpaca for $10-20k.

Also don't forget the tractor (which was brand new, with a bunch of faggoty attachments) was bought with some of those grift bux.

With the announcement that the Tranchers are going on another grifting expedition this time to Reno, Nevada it appears to me that they are making a habit of making convention appearances for grifting purposes and that they potentially are angling to make convention grifting their main income stream. So let us do some math to determine if that would even be possible
Assuming 2 appearance's annually at $10k grifted that's $20,000
Assuming 3 at $10k that's $30,000
Assuming 3 appearances at $16k (that's the amount they grifted at DenFur) that's $48,000.
Assuming 4 appearances at $15k that's $60,000 just from convention appearances
In addition to the around $1300 a month or so they pull in from Patreon, whatever they (Kevin) can E-beg, coffee sales and whatever pittance they can bring in from wool sales and odd jobs even an extra $30k annually (probably more like $24k after expenses) will go along way towards keeping the Alpaca death camp running.
Keep in mind I have no idea how often and where furry conventions take place so their income potential could easily be bolstered or hampered by their geographic location.
This also assumes there isn't a mass awakening in the furfag community to their bullshit (Imagine if there were entirely appropriate Zoosadism accusations) or for if they get featured in a Hontra Points video and become even bigger darlings of the twitter leftoidverse.

There's a certain scholarly interest to watching them learn to ranch. It's like seeing our ancestors figure it out.
yes but at least our ancestors EVENTUALLY learned how to function raising livestock and growing food. They had too otherwise we wouldn't even be sitting at our computers typing these passages out.

There's a couple of attack lines
  • Vegan culture often centres whiteness and involves a lot of "Columbusing"/appropriating PoC cultures that traditionally practice veganism. This interest in veganism is driving up the price of some vegan staples, taking these foods out of the hands of those PoC so Karen can play at being an Earth Goddess
  • PoC (especially diaspora) often find traditional foodstuffs an important part of their culture and a way of reinforcing their identity. Many PoC remember as children being shamed by wypipo for having foreign food, so white people now criticising them for eating meat/dairy are hypocrites even though this probably isn't the same white people
  • Finding vegan alternatives for food can be expensive, and not everyone can afford the money, time and effort to switch to becoming vegan. Especially PoC.
I didn't say they were good attack lines.

I'll throw in on this:

There are a lot of people on the left who weaponize their personal lifestyle choices to the point where saying "I never eat X" really can be a way of telling other people that you are morally superior. And other people know this and react defensively, to which the first group acts oh so surprised that anyone would take their obvious moral high ground as a threat.

This is not all vegans, it's not all leftists, etc.

But for some reason food is a particular place of contention for leftists.

It's pseudo-religious.

I am better than you. I am purer than you. My values are superior to yours. I am more capable of restraint than you are. I am less subject to my base instincts than you are. I am more appreciative of the finer things than you are.

Like I know people who only eat wild game, or only eat the beef that they personally raised. I also know people who are vegan because they get the shits when they eat dairy. I know some raging autists who only eat soft, white foods. I know people with honest-to-god celiac. I also know people for whom a restrictive diet is a way of masking anorexia.

And then you have yokels like me who eat Velveeta and Top Ramen and who have learned through a lifetime of dealing with SJWs not to take other people's food choices personally.

SJWs always do this with everything, though, that's sort of what defines these creatures. So something like veganism is usually in line with the bullshit these clowns already espouse, which is why it brings up angry, screeching defensiveness and claims of "muh privilege" and other nonsense.

They can't just fire back with "I just don't care" or "it's natural for omnivores to eat meat" because that flies in the face of their denial of biological reality at its most basic levels. So they have to make it about minorities or ableism or some other retarded buzzword.

Think you nailed it. They can’t handle the thought that someone else *actually acts* on their beliefs, whether it’s about cruelty to animals or climate change - that’s SJW territory! You’re not supposed to act on it, just sperge hypocritically and act superior on Twitter.
So their moral authority is injured and they have to make up some other bullshit to be offended about.

How could anyone look at those emaciated, shivering alpaca and think that it's a good photo to represent their ranch? :heart-empty: Those animals are all going to die going into the winter like this. Good thing the Tranch Dividians are already digging a pit to bury them in. The wasted appearance of the alpaca is probably so normal to them by now that they don't see how poor their condition really is. All the alpaca around them are gaunt and hungry all the time.

Here's some sheared alpaca that don't look terrible:
Sheared+alpaca+2011+013.JPG

They have smooth, rounded torsos. Their spines are padded out, and their ribs aren't visible under their fleece. Compare them to the Tranch alpaca. It's a night and day difference.

I wonder if intentionally starving the animals over the winter is part of their exit strategy.

I honestly think the tranch troons are just that retarded when it comes to caring for alpacas. Penny, Bonnie, and whoever else actually does work on the tranch haven't done any kind of real research into best care practices for the alpacas. Have the alpacas ever been seen by a veterinarian? I don't recall ever seeing a post about one visiting and giving the herd vaccinations. I don't recall any posts where the tranchers give vaccinations to the herd.

There is zero evidence that they do even the bare minimum needed to care for these animals. I don't think they care about them at all. It is just a marketing ploy for them. After all, they couldn't get invited to be the "charity" at all these furfests if they didn't have alpacas. Without pictures of cute alpacas, who really wants to support a bunch of white men running around playing militia in a desert landscape? They don't even try to look like women. They are fat men with long hair and moobs who like to shoot guns and eat tacos.

Is there a reason they're doing an alpaca murder hole instead of like...anything else? I find it hard to believe they couldn't scrape together enough money for a few costco car ports or something for these poor animals. It wouldn't exactly look nice but neither does the hole. Digging the hole can't be less work than actually building something, either. I know the answer is yes but...are they actually this stupid?

The thread speculation that makes sense to me is that they likely got the Alpacas for better-than-free from a rescue; they got the alpacas + free feed. This is why you always charge a rehoming fee, etc.
Lots of Alpaca's get abandoned because they cannot be ranched profitably. The only way you can hope to turn a profit is selling the calves to retards who see the price of Alpaca wool and think they will totally make money.

I don't think there's one aside from the appearance of working extra hard, at least not with their level of gross incompetence.

It's going to be windproof and assuming they do everything right it wouldn't require as much heat insulation as a regular building. Considering the dry climate they could get away with a thinner layer of water insulation as well, but they still need to build a proper roof for the barn.
