It's not like the shelves are completely empty, but there are plenty of bare spots at the supermarkets I've been hitting up. The bigger issue has been a massive price jump in meat and dairy.

Speaking to friends who are vendors for Pepsi and Nabisco, there isn't a full on shortage *yet* apparently, but they're so hard up for labor that they don't have enough vendors to keep everything stocked on shelves well. (edit: This could also extend to the stores stockers themselves too which could account for non vendor goods) And the story I got from my friend with Pepsi is that the shortage is on cans themselves so you're probably going to see absolutely no sales on canned soda, maybe even a bump up in prices for cans, but that bottled soda will still have sales and be regular price.

Edit: Thinking about it, this doesn't mean people won't just buy up all the bottled soda and still create a shortage for it.

It sure is nice living in the middle of the country where all the meat is butchered. The only things I‘ve seen missing on shelves are niche items like certain flavors of sparkling water. Meat is a little more expensive, but not by much. Nobody is on edge at the store and people still say excuse me if they think they’re in the way.

It would actually make a lot of sense if we put that together with other accounts of their early relationship. Apparently, Bill was insanely stubborn with trying to win her over back in college and we have pictures to show that there was a legitimate courtship. The bomb was only dropped because the US wanted to end the war with Japan before Russia got involved (as Russia REALLY fucking hate Japan and wanted a foothole there to spread communism). You might be onto something, there aren’t any professional sports teams nearby. Being further west than Iowa and Minnesota also seems to be keeping the Chicago gang rats away for now.

I live within 20 miles of facilities for pretty much every professional sport down to even niche stuff like curling and haven't noticed shortages of anything, so it has to be regional.
