Nobody has been able to come up with an explanation as to how a vaccine is supposed to lead to long-term side effects when it's no longer present in the body. Neither the mRNA nor the spike proteins produced by the cells stick around for more than a few days, and the only thing that remains is the immune system's adaption to a pathogen that it has seen before, mainly through memory B and T cells.
We haven't observed any long-term side effects with the Covid vaccines or any other (non-live-virus) vaccine, and neither has anyone come up with a plausible scenario in which there would be any.

I haven’t been able to find any instances of vaccine side effects appearing years after the fact. My understanding at this point is that any problems you’re likely to experience from the vaccine also would have occurred if you contracted the virus, with the potential of being way worse from the virus itself. The one serious risk that has some preliminary evidence right now is myocarditis for men under the age of 30 who got the Moderna shot.
I still haven’t gotten the vaccine but I think the schizoboomer claims about it are silly. They always move the goalposts — you’ll be dead in two weeks, no six months, no a year, on and on. My [close family member] is a doctor and they believe the vaccine is riskier than traditional vaccines which i think is a reasonable enough position, but they haven’t been able to give me any good evidence of long term harm.
I think there is an interesting discussion to be had about the fact that vaccinated people can still carry and transmit the virus, so they may be more likely to carry the virus without realizing it. Add the fact that this virus is zoonotic and it seems almost certain that kung flu will be endemic. Respiratory viruses tend to stick around, otherwise we wouldnt have to deal with influenza, rhinovirus, etc every year. I’m out of my depth with this stuff though

most of the potential risks that can come from vaccination (allergic reactions, heart attack, myocarditis, embolisms) tend to happen within a specific time frame, which is to say, between fifteen minutes to twenty four hours later. injecting something directly into muscle tissue doesn't give it much free time to putz around the body without getting noticed by immune cells or running into a major organ like the heart.
then after initial inoculation, the majority of ingredients in a vaccine soon get processed by your kidneys and liver to be broken down and flushed out, and the ones that don't are in such tiny amounts that they don't pose a problem anyways. medical conspiracy theorists have this weird doublethink where our bodies are simultaneously defenseless and impervious to outside threats, like they're writing fanfiction about human biology on a whim.

I think this is mainly an issue for people who only have a very vague understanding of what a vaccine is and how it works. If you view it as some sort of magic or 'black box' and you know it can produce immunity, then maybe it could potentially also make you grow a second head or damage your liver.
It's like an old person who doesn't understand computers unplugging the Ethernet cable at night because they're worried about getting hacked while the computer is turned off. It's silly to someone who knows how computers work, but for someone who sees a computer as a magic black box, it sounds just as plausible as anything else.

I'm never taking the experimental gene therapy jab. People can piss and cry about how I'm "killing their grandmas" all they want but it's not gonna get that needle in my arm. Nothing will.
