US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Remember, we STILL haven't had a State of the Union Address.
There's technically nothing in the Constitution that says the President has to deliver his state of the union address in person. Until FDR, the state of the union was sent via letter. I was thinking that if Biden's cognitive decline continues, they might revive the tradition. I don't think he's in any state to give a speech for 90 minutes.

That would be disastrous because then you'll see the DNC quadruple down in flooding states with illegals to swing the governorship and from their have an even greater stranglehold over the Senate
In a scenario where we're able to amend the Constitution I'm sure we'd also be in a position to make the border very secure and prevent such flooding.

You're right, we did. My dementia is kicking in again.

On a completely unrelated topic; are there any special exemptions, eexceptions or rules awarded on the death of a sitting president? Or is it just flags flying half-mast, a ceremonial period of mourning and back to business by the end of the week?

Not unrelated to that, has there ever been the cancellation or 'passing-over'/ignoring of mid-term elections?
Some ceremonial stuff, but realistically back to business by the next -day-. Varying time periods to reach full efficiency again, but all back to work. And it'd literally be impossible to cancel the elections by our constitution. An extreme circumstance could potentially get a pass from SCOTUS, but it'd have to be something like "Half of America is invaded and therefore cannot vote".

We've all heard the analogy of boiling the frog slowly, right? Because frogs can't feel temperature change and sit there happy until they're an entree in a French restaurant.

Another effect, similar to boiling the frog, is front loading pain/discomfort, then make things mildly more comfortable, and people will believe that everything about the experience was good.
An experiment was carried out with people putting their hands in cold water for 60 seconds, then the water being warmed up slightly on the last 15 seconds. The second experiment was putting hands in even colder water, for 90 seconds, but the temperature is raised slightly warmer than the previous experiment. Approx 80% of people prefered the second experiment over the first, even though the second was more painful for longer, but it had a better ending. The conclusion was that the story telling part of the brain ignores the experiencing part of the brain when it comes to recalling memory. So that looking back, the second experiment is remembered more fondly. Similar to the 'rose tinted glasses' idea

So the US could see 3 years of the worst hell it has been through in a century, as a chance to bring in inflation and whatever other nasty evil shit that 'they' want to bring in and as long as year 4 is better than the previous 3. Even if it's just a return to modern standards, the people will flock to the polls to vote Dem again.

If what @Gehenna says is true, in that "every administration has a crisis" it would make more sense to front-load that crisis, then smooth it out towards 2024.
It could be worse, it could be people are so used to bad shit happening they start to comply to it, instead of reject it similar to that old experiement of dogs being treated to shock collar charges over and over again until the dogs finally gave into the torture.
I am not the one who said that, and I also vehemently disagree with that. In fact, you and I had this back and forth before. People remember negative experiences -way better- than positive ones. The experiment you mention flies in the face of literally every other experiment done on memory, which shows people prefer to remember the bad over the good.
I agree but this is why journalist are doing this massive gas light attempt, if they can make Trump (or right wing parties) look or be referenced as awful they can try to slide it under the rug. Which is why they play softball with democrat's actions or make people comply to how bad it's getting as mentioned above.

The problem with the Democrat's attempt is that you don't retroactively get that crystallized memory of "bad". It's a core part of our survival strategy, we see something bad and our memory cements it in place so we know to avoid it. If people didn't already have that with Trump, and the majority did not, they just had a vague sense of "Orange Man Seems Bad", you cannot create it after the fact. We aren't wired that way.

This, by the way, is why so many commies exist. Yah, the USSR and Communist China were both truly hells on Earth. But no amount of video shown, propaganda spun, or printed word on page can give people that same visceral hatred and negative feedback as experiencing it.

While I have no doubt at all the plan is either to fortify the elections or somehow get the GOP back into Controlled Opposition status, another suggestion I heard that makes just as much sense to me is the timeline one. That the left was running on some kind of timeline, and Trump getting in disrupted it significantly. Thus now that they "dealt with" him they have to get us back on schedule even though they don't have the years of slow simmering to get us to accept this stuff at face value. Thus the "just shut up and obey us goddamnit" stance they're starting to take.
They literally want America to be a one party state, a bit like South Africa or a left wing version of Singapore.

Here's the unfortunate thing about the private mandates. They are perfectly constitutional. They do not infringe any right in the constiution.

"But Roe v Wade!" is the actual counter, since hypothetically the decision there should extend here... yes. It would. But SCOTUS is refusing to consider that arguement.

Fucking Democrats, not realizing that they are setting up a decision that will -fuck- them in the long term...

They only consider the here and now. Not the future. Strange since they think the future will be them ruling everyone for all eternity.

It's possible they think none of us will be around in the near future, so if they only have a temporary amount of time to rule in Hell they are going to take it. It would further exemplify people calling them a doomsday cult.

Here's the thing, they are setting up a perfect scenario for SCOTUS to rule Roe v. Wade as bad law without ever having to rule on Roe v. Wade itself. Democrats want Healthcare Mandates, which should be covered under the same Right to Privacy as abortion, right now they are skirting around the issue by having private companies do the dirty deed. The problem is that as the pressure mounts more companies will try it, and then stop because it hurts too much. See the latest airline fiasco. This will only leave direct state mandates and now SCOTUS can take that case up and rule either for it, or against it.

Either way, they can use it as a way to say the Right to Privacy is not in fact a right. Doing that overturns Roe. Just that. They never even have to mention Roe by name. And then they have at most 20 years to find a new way to secure the black vote, before they utterly lose control of it.

How do you unseat a countries Administration that actively fortified the prior election which strategically positioned them there, who has chosen to side with and support a segment of that society who condemns and wants to unravel all the traditional values that contributed to the building of the greatness of that nation while being reinforced through the unilateral actions of those in academic institutions, the MSM, the Corporate Class, the Higher-Ups in Military and other important government institutions?

Do you know how to do a little light marching and a sense of timing for flag waving? It's as good a place to start as any.

You know what I see? Something akin to Ayn Ran's Atlas Shrugged but instead of "captains of industry" noping the fuck out it's pilots, nurses/doctors, soldiers and police, to name a few.

Parents are also going to leave public schools and realize they can either home school or send their kids to private. Fewer students means fewer federal dollars and thus fewer hires, hitting the AFT where it hurts, the pocketbook. This of course leads to less/no money for those bribes thinly veiled as "get out the vote" or whatever.

Of course they set themselves up. They're Democrats.

Simple, by them kinda imploding... Ironically, it's not really anything the right is doing that makes it possible to unseat them. It's the fact they overreached, with no mandate, and a coalition best described as "Fractious". They are actively imploding and have no way to fend off or fortify against an assault.
