I was so wrong. He got addicted to heroin, schizoposts on Twitter, and probably can't draw because he sold away his big Wacom tablet for meth. That's the reason he's so aloof. He's fucking strung out. He never truly became mainstream, Belle did. And he's not belle. All the other degen artists are still better than him (cyancap did a Collab with bad dragon to make a Fleshlight of his pig character), but it seems that he's poison in projects because he never works on any new ones. Even if he did draw something new, it would still just be his run of the mill shit. The same overblown and predictable drawings as always.

I'm glad to see shad deteriorate. His art led me down a dark path which comes to haunt and torment me more often than I'd like to admit. If I could go back and undo finding his drawings of Helen from Incredibles, I would do so in a heartbeat.

I think it's sort of tragic because he seemed to be turning over a new leaf. I was only exposed to him post that period, so it was easy to become a fan. Bought into his lies on a podcast or something on youtube that the "content" he made years back was just to be edgy, maybe it is, but retweeting that stuff shows that he's beyond redemption. Finding out that his entire macho persona is fake too and he TRULY is a random wimpy edgelord who never grew up is pretty interesting.

I'm wondering how much he paid that guy to take photos and pretend to be him.

Why would he give out his newgrounds name from 10+ years ago which most likely can quickly be tied to his real life shit? He provided pictures of Shad and some information that not a lot of people knew about, it doesn't matter who he is.

Here was a contest on newgrounds in 2012 where people were encouraged to draw Shad getting tortured because he kept shitting up the Art page with his gross pedo drawings. Nerdbayne and RedFeather both comment. RedFeather again mentions Shad is his roommate, and says he never leaves his room and sucks at video games. The drawing that won second place actually looks like Shad with bigger arms, which is interesting. Apparently Shad had drawn a self portrait at some point, but it has been lost to time.

Interestingly, while looking through images from his scrapbook on newgrounds from his time in as a conscript, I came upon this. The final sketch clearly shows heroin needles and cotton swabs (?) for sanitization. I am sure this was potentially brought up before way back a few dozens upon dozens of pages, but it is interesting to speculate that he has always had some degree of fascination or at least knowledge with heroin.

Spoiler: Morally dubious art with drug paraphernalia

It is very possible that Shad had known someone in Switzerland with the habit or had some general knowledge regarding how to do it, considering the one image from his twitter breakdown that highlighted alcohol soaked q tips besides a possible h-cooking spoon.

Switzerland is a country that actually has a heroin-addiction-assistance program, delivering sanitized needles and the like to junkies, possibly even providing them with clean and safe places to indulge. Not only that, but it is likely they also teach them some basics about sanitation and what not. Public overdoses were common enough for society and community leaders to take notice. Also, the frequency of heroin usage had lead to people sharing needles. Spreading HIV and other similar ailments. Attempting to curve drug addiction entirely was sort of ruled out in favour of enabling junkies to do less dangerous heroin under preferable circumstances, than dying outside of hotels and in the streets. This has worked to at least, clean away the image of the heroin problem in Switzerland (which is probably more just a very visible and apparent one rather than a tremendous epidemic) but has surely enabled certain individuals to live as junkies with less sacrifices.

The intent of the program is primarily: harm reduction, more open treatment with less stigma - availability and stability of those programs. I wonder if Shad always had a bit of a habit, maybe even was on opioid substitution therapy. And being in America, without the resources and alternatives, could it be that he simply settled for 'less' and completely began to indulge? Just a thought.

He did delete his patreon, but was it due to his own inactivity or was it because he had a more convenient cashflow? Hard to tell.

I believe he was banned once for the loli shit but they allowed him to make a new one before he decided to delete that one presumably because patreon started putting more and more restrictions on what content was allowed to be on there or can be made with the funds they were making from it.
