You're right, and the middle-aged AGP type you mentioned are also the type that you won't find deeply involved in nerdy escapist activities like fandom and video games. You could probably look at "troon emotional reactions to being misgendered" as a spectrum going from pure narc rage (the older typical coomer AGP) to something closer to pure trauma (Aidens, maybe some very autistic transbians). That said, the two emotions would also become muddled because trooning out in general encourages narcissistic behavior and like you said, is bad for mental health in general.

I also think we are seeing a new variety of male troon emerge that does not have autogynephilia (or only has a mild version of it) and transitions simply as a way to gain power over and access to women, and/or escape the consequences of their past misbehavior against women and general problematic behavior. If I had to try & classify all the types of troons, they can be broken down into two broad categories: escapees and chasers. Escapees are primarily motivated by a deep-seated belief that their current self is inherently inadequate or bad, and desire to get as far way from it as possible; they are much more likely to have what's conventionally diagnosed as gender dysphoria.
Self-depricators. These are who Blanchard called HSTS. Consciously or not, they have internalized beliefs about rigid roles relating to gender, sex, and sexuality, and they see their failure to adhere to it as a sign that they should become the opposite instead. This is the official stance of the Iranian government.
Trauma survivors. These people survived some sort of traumatic event relating to their bodies (usually some kind of sexual abuse), or some other event that ties into a key part of their identity. They hope that transitioning will remove their prior vulnerabilities, or allow a clean psychological break. Most commonly seen in FTMs who survived childhood sex abuse.
Alienated loners. These are the typical teen troons: isolated, asocial (typically due to something like autism or BPD), and feeling lost with no idea of who they are or what they want in life. They will gladly mold to the ideology of any group that promises companionship, a purpose, and a promise to resolve all their self-doubts. If they didn't troon out, they'd probably be in a cult or a fringe political movement.
Pressured peers. Whether they were part of a friend group with an egg cracker, or simply in a social environment that condemned normality and praised transgenderism, outside pressures cause these people to begin hating themselves for being normal and wishing they could change—however, friendship, self-esteem, and protection from abuse are just one "I'm trans" away.
Chasers, on the other hand, are not necessarily driven by a desire to get away from their old self as much as they are driven to work toward some kind of (unrealizable) ideal.
Sexual projectors. These are who Blanchard called AGPs/AAPs. They have begun to either project themselves into opposite-sex fantasies or project their sexual desire on themselves, and desire to make their erotic fantasies into a reality. Oftentimes, they harbor the most backwards views of what the other gender is like, and act like blatantly offensive walking stereotypes.
This includes the infinitely creepier subcategory of Humberts, who specifically model their new appearance, name, behavior, etc. on someone they know in real life. Oftentimes, it's a family member they secretly lusted after or someone who previously rejected them.
Peter Pans. These people, likely already manchildren before they trooned out, view transitioning as a sort of rebirth, which includes a second childhood. They present themselves as young (often acting far younger than reality), innocent, and sensual, and rarely act like they're older than a high schooler in a hentai comic. If they were born white women, they'd probably force their daughters to do beauty pageants to vicariously live out their childhood fantasies.
Narcissists. These need no introduction. Regardless of whether their motive is fetishistic or depressive, they use their transgenderism as a way to constantly be in the limelight, gain clout in the community, and nurture a well-fed persecution complex. Woke ideologues may have invented "disagreement is literal violence against me," but these people perfected it.
Transmaxxers. These are incels who cynically transitioned because they felt it would be a good way to get flattery, praise, and sexual propositions from others. They are probably the only segment of the trans community who are fully honest about their intentions.
Edit: looking into things, I also noticed that there are a few distinct personalities that also only develop once someone's significantly trooned out for a while and the regret starts kicking in:
Egg crackers. These people tend to develop from narcissists looking for more praise, sexual projectors looking for more porn; however, many of them are from other groups, trying to avoid second-guessing. They fixate on "cracking eggs," convincing themselves that these are all latent trans people who need to be awoken instead of manipulating teenagers into having existential crises.
Trancels. These tend to start off as Peter Pans, but as time goes on, they realize that their ideals of childhood bliss for the opposite sex are pale facsimiles of reality. They become embittered and resentful, complaining that they were robbed of their childhood happiness (whether original or "second"), wishing that they were "socialized" differently growing up, and tend to be the most vitriolic towards those of the opposite sex online.
Troomers. These are the most pitiful of all troons. They did everything they could—legal changes, hormone therapy, bottom surgery, you name it—but they are still left with a profound pain inside. Whether the fetish high has worn off, the dysphoria is as strong as ever, or they had an irreparably botched surgery, the terrible realization that they're stuck with mangled bodies for the rest of their lives has set in. Some choose to detransition, while others realize that their lives have become too fully entwined to the trans community for them to ever have a chance at leaving. Many pretend that things are fine and they're finally fulfilled, but they're not fooling anyone, let alone themselves.

"WRENTHAM (CBS) – An Amazon driver is facing serious charges after Wrentham Police say he took pictures of women and girls in a bathroom at the Wrentham Outlets. His arrest follows an investigation that started this summer.

Surveillance video soon led investigators to 23-year-old Jacob Guerrero of Woonsocket, Rhode Island. A search warrant gave police access to his phone, which contained photos and videos of child pornography.
“Some of the children he allegedly had on his phone were 8, 9, 10, 11 years old,” McGrath said.
Guerrero was arrested leaving the Amazon parking lot in Wrentham. He worked there as a delivery driver. Investigators say it was his work that led him to at least one victim.
“He had returned to a home that was on his route and actually filmed a child through a second story window,” McGrath said.
Police say much of the evidence was recorded out of state during trips Guerrero took to New Jersey and California. The chief knows the overwhelming majority of delivery drivers visiting our homes are safe, hard workers.

Five of the victims were under 18, several were between 8 and 11 years old. In one case, “the evidence suggests the suspect secretly recorded a young girl through her bedroom window as she undressed,” said police.

I agree with you, except for that one part. TiFs are the ones responsible for the erasure of the word "woman". They tried to get r/PCOS banned for calling using female terms for their users. TiMs got the blame for it because radfems love to blame men; sometimes they're right but they really dropped the ball in this case. I'd say that the TiFs try even more to push the most pernicious inclusive speech because their attempts usually use real words while the TiMs' attempts are more laughable and can easily be recognized and dismissed, but at least the TiFs are less violent than the TiMs about it.
I think there's a weird disparity between gender inclusive language and anatomy.
Trans men and trans women both have preferred terms for their natal anatomy ("front hole", "clitty". "girldick" etc) but in terms of medical settings they have very different reactions. Trans men are the ones complaining that referring to cervixes, periods, pregnancy, breastfeeding etc. as things specific to women is exclusionary and implies they're not real men.
Trans women don't seem to make that much fuss about prostates or testicular cancer being men's health issues - I'm sure there's some sperging on twitter, but you're not seeing the BMA issuing guidance about "people who ejaculate" or "prostate havers" in the same way you see "people who menstruate" or "cervix havers". In fact, the medical term "MSM" (males who have sex with males - a grouping for gay/bi men and trans women) persists in epidemiology. Instead you see them claiming that they have "periods" or that they're able to breastfeed, and demanding they go to a gynaecologist for their amholes (while trans men don't tend to demand to see a urologist).
It might have something to do with surgical outcomes and how common bottom surgery is in each group, but both trans men and trans women seem to want women's health issues adapted to accommodate them, and men's health is kinda left alone.
