US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

This coming Superbowl is by far the one I'm looking forward to the most. I couldn't give two shits about the football, I just can't wait for "Fuck Joe Biden!" to be chanted at what is probably the US's biggest sporting event. I imagine they'll try to keep it from happening, but there's no way they're going to stifle this budding American tradition.

And New Years bowl games. It will be glorious, or there will be a coof resurgence and attendees will be limited to pre-screened people.

Why are boomer comics so ugly? Makes me wonder if Zoomer comics from 50 years will look like manga strips lol
Could be worse and look like an androgynous calarts blob.

I see what your saying and her situation is a bad one and she probably is doing the best she can but she isn't doing the highlighted part. The administration still gets a shit ton of flak despite her being a bitch and unfortunately her bitchiness comes across as stupidity.

I can't say she's done a good job and by your criteria she needed to go extra hard by at least half an order magnitude to end up being the story herself which she really hasn't. Everytime she's in the news it's highlighted how dumb the administration is not because of her specifically.

That's not them coping. That's them letting everyone know they will be cheating. Again.
There is a limit to how much fire she can take onto herself. Too much and she becomes a liability herself. The simple fact is that this admin is such a god-damned trainwreck that even the usual weapon of last resort is seeing diminishing returns. That's not Psaki's fault, its the admin's.

OR--now stay with me here...

ANOTHER option for Strawberry Shortcake is to (are you sitting down for this?)

QUIT.

Save face. Have some goddamn integrity and MORALS and QUIT. Not months from now. QUIT. NOW. and show that she has a moral compass and some personal pride.

What a concept.

She has absolutely ZERO excuses. Obfuscate and detract, even if that's the only option is an EX-CUSE, and this needs to stop.
That assumes that she wants to throw the admin under the bus. She is, for all appearances, a true believer. Likely, this is why she was chosen.

Right, but at some point your numbers drop to the point where the population just won’t support you in the escalation of force.
What I mean is, let’s say they go all-in on compulsory shots for elementary schoolkids, parents refuse, the SS move in and start rounding kids up, the Admin’s numbers sink down to 25% or 15%. At some point you just don’t have the support of the governed to do what you want to do. I’d think they’d back off, regroup, let those numbers come up a bit, and then attack again from a different angle, not just keep doubling and tripling down while giving their dwindling numbers of supporters nothing except admonishing them to “lower their expectations”. Seems like a recipe for failure for them.
How.... how can you get -this- close to realizing your entire worldview is fundamentally wrong, but still uphold it?

Let's be clear here. The Democrats are overstretched, massively. They pushed too far, too fast, and now the tide of the backlash is hitting them again and again. The reason they keep pushing is that they can no longer back off, it's push or die. This is all a good thing, given context. It means the Overton window shifted a while ago, people are already fed up, and an increasing amount of resistance is growing while at the same time the Democrats are overextended and deeply fractured leaving a massive opening.

In other worlds, the world ain't doomed, the elites didn't have a grand plan, now grab some popcorn and watch the chaos.

I wonder how much of this is bullshit?

SCOOP: Manchin Tells Associates He’s Considering Leaving the Democratic Party and Has an Exit Plan
Archive

I cut some of the filler from the article, but this is essentially it. I wonder why this is being floated in the media - are they hoping to cut him off at the pass so to speak?
Called it!

Aww... very strong denial though, I must say.
Of course he denied it, he'd be insane not to. Right now he fundamentally has a ton of power, but is also under an absolute onslaught of force. Leaving open and making an exit strategy to the other side would remove that power, but would also give him safety and security if that power hits a dead end.

Right now, Manchin is busy trying to, basically by himself, wrench the entire congress back towards the center. He's making inroads on it too, getting massive chunks of that awful bill removed. If they know he's making an exit strategy for sure, he loses a ton of leverage to do so. But also, he needs that exit strategy if he fails.

There's technically nothing in the Constitution that says the President has to deliver his state of the union address in person. Until FDR, the state of the union was sent via letter. I was thinking that if Biden's cognitive decline continues, they might revive the tradition. I don't think he's in any state to give a speech for 90 minutes.
If the West Wing is to be believed, it would be enough for the president to send Congress a copy of the Washington Post.

Court Rules in Favor of Republicans in Dispute Over Illinois Redistricting Maps

A federal court has ruled in favor of Illinois Republicans over a lawsuit filed in June disputing a legislative redistricting plan by Democrats in the General Assembly.

House Republican Leader Jim Durkin and Illinois Senate Republican Leader Dan McConchie filed the lawsuit to challenge legislative maps drawn by Democrats and signed into law by Governor JB Pritzker.

“The Court declares that the June Redistricting Plan, Public Act 102-0010, violates the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution,” the court ruling stated.

The Republican’s lawsuit asserted that that because the legislative maps were drawn using American Community Survey (ACS) population estimates, rather than the final 2020 census enumeration data, the maps cannot ensure the populations are equal as required by the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause and its one person, one vote rule.

Redistricting is the process of redrawing state legislative and congressional district boundaries following the decennial U.S. Census, which happens every 10 years. The Illinois maps were drawn in June by a Democrat majority committee made up of state legislators. Governor J.B. Pritzker, a Democrat, signed the new maps into law on Sept. 24.

Adam Kincaid, the executive director at National Republican Redistricting Trust (NRRT) said in a recent interview that Pritzker should not have approved the maps in the first place.

“Number one, it didn’t use real data; number two, it was clearly partisan; and number three, he promised a veto it, right? He said that he wanted the commission to draw the map. Governor Pritzker’s veto would have forced an (independent) commission to draw the maps,” said Kincaid. “But what did he do? He signed it anyway.”

Pritzker’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the court’s ruling.

Illinois is just one of the states where the redistricting process is heated and the new maps are being contested. Oregon, Texas, Colorado, Virginia, Wisconsin, Alabama, South Carolina, Louisiana, Ohio, and Arkansas are some of the other states in redistricting disputes.

All of these lawsuits whether filed by Democrats or Republicans are in an effort to define congressional districts that will best facilitate each party gaining an advantage to win the majority in the 2022 elections.

In the House, Democrats have a slim advantage over Republicans. Historically, the party of the president generally loses seats in the House and Senate during the next midterms. After former President Donald Trump’s 2016 victory, Republicans lost their House majority in 2018.

The House GOP needs to pick up five seats to secure a House majority, and they need just one seat to take the Senate.

House leaders of both parties, Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) have recently said they feel confident that they will win/keep the majority after the 2022 mid-terms.

But also, he needs that exit strategy if he fails.
At least it sounds like he has a coherent and thought-out exit plan for if his two-person crusade ultimately fails.

And they fucked it up because they decided to be Veruca Salt. Even down to the fact that they didn't even find the Golden Ticket themselves (well, officially).
Biden is Grampa Joe - pretending to be an feeble old man until he gets his opportunity to steal a gobstopper (American prosperity) to sell to Slugworth (Communist China). Ben Garrison, call me!
