I was/am a big fan of Queer as Folk, a show that came out before "Queer" meant anything other than an offensive term for a gay person. The show was groundbreaking at the time and made huge strides in showing gay people as more than 2-dimensional stereotypes. It challenged the prevailing ideas of who gay and lesbian people were and represented a wide range of life experiences.

That said, knowing that the she-hulk Jack[lyn] Moore is going to be a part of the reboot gives me serious doubts that the reboot will do the original series any justice, and I probably won't bother to see it. Everything the troons touch turns to shit. Give me my hats.

Yeah I mean this was back in 1999 when the majority of people thought gays were either utterly repulsive or scarily weird. I know we love to joke on KF but a lot here who didn’t grow up then have a hard time imagining how actually homophobic mainstream society used to be. It was pretty easy to get assaulted, there was zero repercussions for calling a gay person faggot to their face, being kicked out of your parents house for coming out was the norm, hell Ellen had the most inoffensive comedy show on prime time tv and lost numerous advertisers for coming out as gay.

It's a bit like Sex and the City and Bridget Jones' Diary with why they became popular and why they're still enjoyable and interesting to watch today. It captured the distinct culture and zeitgeist of the time and a modern reboot wouldn't work at all.

I think most sex education is made by wierdos and useless but I admit have been thinking about a sex education site in normal language. Not because I want do one but this seems like a rebellious act. It's really wierd that's were we are.

So no saving saving tranny fefees by running around biological aspects with complicated word salad, just simple womens and mens health with as plain language as possible. No extra affirmations of any lifestyle, just the bare facts in straightforward manner that people can use to make informed decisions about sex and health. Probably would need some FAQ about that the trans issue with nice politely worded passive aggression how dumb they are.

We of course don't have anything against trans people and welcome them learn about bodies here just like anyone else but unfortunately we cannot accommodate them with inclusive language.

Why don't you use trans inclusive language?
People tend find sex and body functions to be awkward topics so any extra hurdle can send them away. It's horrible that we need sex education that erases transpeople but many people find inclusive language so confusing that it prevents them from learning. "People with cervixes" doesn't mean anything if don't know what a cervix is and what sort of people have them.

Because it adds the learning load and makes the text longer. With sexual health and body functions there are already many new and complex terms to learn. This is especially true to none native speakers so we try avoid adding more than necessary. This means using the most common words and the most common understanding of words, like woman is an adult human female only and only men have penises. We undeserved that's not what everyone prefers, but really does help others to learn.

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Even some trans people find trans inclusive language confusing and prefer our plain and simple approach. Trans inclusive language is quite new and so vocabulary is far from having solid and well defined understanding. New term pop up constantly and hard to keep up with even if they are more inclusive and gentle on identity. Still if our language use doesn't work for you, there are many trans inclusive and trans aimed sex education sites and we recommend you to look for one that is right for you and your feelings.

I am not sure how I feel about someone like this. On the one hand, he’s clearly an exceptional individual, and if an exceptional individual wants to dress up and say they’re a girl then maybe it is better to indulge them, like you would with a child or a dementia patient. The purpose of the bracelet (other than making sure you have to correct chart for the correct person) is to give the basic important info, in case there’s an emergency. so someone can go ahead and administer emergency anti-seizure meds, even if they don’t have the person’s chart. An old family friend of ours has talked about some pretty brutal deaths of his friends from both AIDS & suicide for gay men in the 80-90s. The fact that only homos were getting GAY RELATED Immune Deficiency even stifled the research on the disease that still spread and took out several heterosexual people (and still takes out multiple to this day) fuckin blew.

If you're in a city or a less religious area it's easy not to see homohate (good). If you're around say a bunch of first generation latino immigrants or a quiet religious corner of America, homohate is something you actually have to worry about.

Troons really are setting the movement back when even citydwellers, suburbanites, and less religious folks are fucking sick of them. As other Kiwis said before me, if you looked at the "how many Americans hate the LGBT+" and separated LGB and the T+ from each other, you would get some shockingly different results between how much hate goes to what.
