I'm starting to think Starset has some right wing sympathies. Or at least is anti establishment. The best song from the album, Devolution, seems to be straight up calling out the 'fake revolution' and the useful idiots of the government, naming them 'sheep eating from the paws of wolves' that 'spoon feed on their own delusions'
We've been burying the pages
We've been trying to erase this
Built a wall between the truth and us
And it's not enough
We've burned through all the witches
From the paupers to the righteous
In a bubble that will never bust
And it's not enough
Look at that shit. Purity spirals. Erasing history. Cancel culture. The growing backlash against the 'bubble' of the woke. All in the first verse. I don't know if I'm trying to attach meaning to something that's not there, especially considering that they had to write this stuff a year or so ago, but when I read the lyrics of a song and see talking points from this very fucking thread I start to wonder.
