I don't think we have evidence of a booze addiction, he's referenced pills multiple times and we know he's hooked on those, he's also on record smoking weed. There is also times he's referenced mushrooms and "other hallucinogens" in podcasts. I think he also mentioned cocaine once in a podcast.

There's not much to go on, I agree, I'm just not ruling it out. Given his self-professed 'addictive' personality and the fact he seems to indulge wantonly in every other vice imaginable he's a prime candidate for the bottle.

It's also worth noting, the beginning of the drop was before his trooning out becoming evident on his channel (it actually boosted him) and therefore had nothing to do with it, it just happened spontaneously. I did a break down of it here. Since I did that, he's only continued to trend downward as a fairly steady thing. No singular events doing fuck all for him, good or bad.

THANK YOU! I have no idea why Sterling thinks that the fact that they're trans is why they're losing subs in these numbers. Could a portion be because they're trans? Sure, yes, let's assume a good portion of his fanbase hated LGBTQIAA-whateverelsethey'veadded and began a exodus. However, if so many people anti-trans to the degree they describe, you'd think it'd be a large drop-off within a few months and that would be the end of itm since they'd vehemently vet their sub boxes.

However, it's been over a year, and they're still bleeding subs, around -260 per week according to socialblade. It's not the result of anti-trans sentiment, its the fact that their spat with digital homicide and their old videos are far more popular than anything else he's made. Over 60% of his most popular 20 videos are all from more than 2 years ago, and only a single video there is from less than 2 years ago, and the digital homicide video still sits upon the top of the collection with over a .5 million view lead over the runner up. I think this is a problem with youtubers in general though, they make one really big video and have to live up to it or risk being known as "the one guy who made videos on anime but cats" when their real passion is calligraphy or some shit.

There was an old Jimquisition episode, from the better early days of the series, named "Fight in the Name of Childishness" where he (and Jimothy Jim James Sexton Sterling was a he back then) vociferously advocates for angry gamers to vocally shout down and harass mainstream media pundits who write games off as "corrupting" based on small amounts of footage they've watched of games they haven't played. The justification being that said pundits will hold on to their beliefs of gamers being bad no matter how reasonable they try to be. One of the talking points even states how review-bombing a woman's book on Amazon the same way they "metabomb" a disappointing recent game by leaving angry reviews with scores of zero on Metacritic was an effective way of getting her to listen, especially as the reviews use the same "I didn't read it but I'm assuming it's bad" talking point that she did. A year or two later, the same tactics would be quickly forgotten and discouraged when it came to left-wing pundits and journalists. Does Jim think they're softer?

I also remember an early episode "Solving the Sexism Situation" where Jim proposes that the problem isn't "too many hot naked women" but "not enough naked hot men". Although this is an imperfect solution because men and women are aroused in different ways, it's still better than the current paradigm of "let's remove all the fun and sex" especially as "sexier characters" are a huge selling point for next-gen graphics, and there's nothing wrong with liking them.

At @Corn Flakes suggestion I've decided to start doing a weekly update instead of posting every time another 1k drops off. They'll cover Monday-Sunday but go up on the following Monday to allow for a potential late-night drop on a Sunday. This is seriously over a year and a half old now. Sony announced Horizon for PC in March of 2020. Sony said in August of 2020 that they were basically exploring bringing every title to PC. Even the most hardcore of Sony fanboys have had a year to get used to this. There won't be real outrage again until they consider releasing games beyond MLB on the same date on multiple platforms. This is real "imagining some dude and then getting mad at that dude" energy versus actual "pissy people protesting" at this point.

It's even more of a mountain out of a molehill than last week's video; he's really, really getting desperate for content. No wonder he had to fluff the runtime with wrestling shit.

I haven't seen a single person complain about this, because it can only be a good thing unless you're a literal child or have the brain of one. The fact he clearly had to dig to find anyone pissed off about this should have been proof of that fact, but since Jim lives in a fantasy world where everything video game-related has to be all negative all the time I'm not surprised he missed the rest of us hype as fuck to see God of War running at 120 fps, 4k ultra-widescreen.

Because wrasslin is a combination of stunt work and acting. You have to have actual physicality and presence to be entertaining as a wrestler. These amateur hobby league performers have neither. I doubt Jim would be very good as Hamlet either.

On the contrary, Nintendo is easily the most litigious (or willing to threaten litigation) of all the big publishers. Nintendo ROMs are significantly harder to come by online compared to other consoles/publishers due to frequently threatening legal action against the sites hosting them.

Not that they're impossible to get or anything, but Nintendo is one of the few game companies I know of that actively goes around policing their old IP.

Nintendo loves to send C & D letters to fans making free games based around their IPs. The people who made a 16- bit 2-D "demake" Ocarina of Time based on the Link to the Past engine got hit with one, as well as the people making their own remake of Metroid II and an unofficial Mother /EarthBound. 4 It didn't matter that they did not charge money and credited the characters to Nintendo. They either had to take them down, or in the case of the Mother 4 game, change certain characters and elements.
