Not globohomo but Apple just loves putting gay shit in the app store

Being a faggot: A beginner's guide

This artstyle is popular with chick lit book covers, though it hasn't gone full retard with random skin tones and body proportions.

I need to stop being stupid and lazy, and find a good alternative to put YouTube on my phone without commercials. Those Google Fi commercials are absolute cancer and I can't find the mute button fast enough on them.
Brave Browser blocks YouTube ads, and once you toggle a setting, lets you play videos in the background and as an overlay (at least on iOS, dunno if the overlay functionality is baked into Android as well).

Install the open source app store F-Droid and get NewPipe, it also has a bunch of nice features in addition to adblocking. You won't be able to log into your YouTube account in the app but you can import all your subscriptions.

Rate me late (because I am) but have you guys seen the planned redesign for LibreOffice's site?

It's not as bad as other examples in this thread but globohomo art is the last thing I would associate with office productivity. It also leaves me astonished how they insist on using green everywhere which is what makes their current site seem like that of a communal farmers market. Speaking of which I can't even see what's so wrong with it, they could just make the navigation less convoluted (by making the buttons not take up so much space etc) and that's it.

The comments also give us some insight into what LO's users think of this redesign.

I get that LO is free and made by volunteers but I'll never understand why FOSS products get so much ass kissing specially considering LO still has a crappy UI and has a metric ton of bugs that have been sitting on their bugtracker since they split off from OpenOffice in 2010 (I would link examples if their bugtracker wasn't a horribly out-of-date Bugzilla installation that probably has security vulnerabilities all over the place and doesn't let me search by creation date easily).

No Mike, he has a point. LibreOffice has no direction and it shows with how mediocre it is. Considering it's the only (mostly) viable alternative to MS Office you would expect it to be easy to use but after 10 years the UI is still convoluted and buggy as hell (after 5+ you still can't use some drop-down menus if the language is set to Brazilian Portuguese for example), but TDF would rather organize shitty "FOSS" conferences than making the product a more viable competitor.

Dude, no, not everyone is a programmer or has time for this shit. TDF gets funds from governments to create a better alternative to MS's ebil proprietary office suite but you would rather spend time and money organizing conferences and celebrating third-world countries using it rather than actually making it better. More recently they posted this on their blog:

That picture reminded me of Ahmad Aurbery.

Also someone had the guts to say that the redesign sucked ass (emphasis mine) but of course they had censor it for badspeak:

I'm guessing the term Chuck here used must have been globohomo, in which case how mentally immature do you have to be to think that's a no-no word :story:

Let's also see who's behind the redesign, shall we?

I legit thought that guy was a FtM, couldn't he at least get a haircut before taking that picture? Also if that woman on the right set off your radar then it's very likely yours is German made:

Irene Geller: I’m a digital designer from New Jersey (USA) with a focus on UI, visual assets, and branding at the moment. But I began my creative life as a traditional artist, just painting, drawing, and teaching others, too!

Also holy shit I don't know if this really is the same person but now I'm not doubting that guy is actually FtM:

Cat de Leon: My name is Cat and I’m from the San Francisco Bay Area. I have an untraditional background, having majored in math in college, worked in higher education as an institutional researcher, and recently worked as a social media manager. Luckily, I’ve found my dream job in product design! If I’m not designing, I’m probably eating good food, playing video games, playing tennis, watching NBA games, or working out. I will never reject an opportunity to see a picture of your pet. 🙂

Wouldn't be too out of place on a trans bio in a dating app :stress:

You could try NewPipe as mentioned, or look into YouTube Vanced.

As for the horrendous alegria "art", here's one from last year.

FOSS maintainers always blame their users for UX problems, no matter how ubiquitous they are.
