If it was planned to gain publicity, they did a very poor job of doing it. Personally, it could have been a bit for a future podcast episode. If Vito and Dick wanted to actually look good, they would have put more effort into it... and not have Vito there at all because he's a rotund slob. Instead of having a really bad sign; they should have made signs highlighting free speech, and that Dave is entitled to his opinions on whatever.
