It won't get walked back. The micro parties in the parliament have already said they'll be supporting it.

It's incredibly vaguely written, on purpose of course. The mechanism is very clear cut, the Premier gets advice there's a pandemic and he tables the health orders. The conditions for declaring a pandemic are whenever he decides there is one. Dan could have a loose motion one morning and declare a gastro pandemic and nobody could stop him. The nature of the health orders are again whatever he feels like. There's provisions in the bill for 'disadvantaged and people from non-English speaking backgrounds' having fines waived or reduced, a sop to important voting pools like the Muslims, but again this is purely discretionary and will be used to target opposition while giving passes to favored groups. Otherwise the fines are outrageous, up to 21K for even minor breaches. But it's the attributes and characteristic clauses that have me worried. When asked Dan and company refused to give a clear definition of what the language meant but instead gave examples and hypotheticals. One of those examples was the non-vaxxed not being allowed to go into shops, so it's clear that at a minimum it's to allow the government to continue with restrictions on the non vaxxed indefinitely. I assume the same will apply to non approved protests, and workplace vaxx requirements. However there's no theoretical limit to what he can order except it needs to be approved by an 'independent panel' that will be hand picked by Dan. All the parliament can do is say yes or no to his motion that a pandemic exists, after that we have one man rule in the state for 3 month blocks which can be endlessly renewed.

We should be clear that Andrews has already stated that the Covid pandemic will be carrying on for the whole of 2022, so this legislation will be enacted before the current state of emergency runs out in December.

The entirety of the yellow press has refused to criticize what is the most far reaching and anti democratic legislation in Australian history, so no surprise there. I've been talking to estate agents today I'm getting the fuck out of here.

Yes it's going to sail through and most people won't give a fuck until the next lockdown. Dan has said 2 or 3 times that THIS lockdown will 100% be the last one, until the next one happens. We will be due a big spike in cases and hospital admissions some time after Christmas. They're trying to get ahead of it by rolling out boosters before that but I doubt it will work as without draconian force I very much doubt they'll get 90 plus percent to roll their sleeves up again. Andrews will definitely lockdown if we hit thousands of cases a day in the new year, which doesn't worry me as much compared to what he'll do if there is a panic from a new variant and the media blames the purebloods.

The legislation, and I kid you fucking not, contains provisions to account for people's religious and political beliefs when framing health orders. What does this mean? Potentially that health orders can be issued exclusively to certain groups which will be under different legal restrictions than others. Yes this is happening now with the unvaxxed but the legislation goes a lot further, any attribute or characteristic, your race, religion, sex, political beliefs fucking hobbies can be taken account off in the issuance of targeted health directions. Health orders that single out particular groups for discriminatory policing is not something I'd ever thought I'd see in my lifetime and yes all anti discrimination legislation is suspended during a pandemic as it relates to health orders.

I have no doubt that if shit goes south with the vaccines Dan will start rounding up troublemakers under the guise of health. He's building that giant prison camp for a reason and it has fuck all to do with bush fires or unvaxxed travelers.
