Community Tard Baby General (includes brain dead kids) - Fundies and their genetic Fuckups; Parents of corpses in denial

Wouldn't Luna actually be worse? This one still has some brain left and doesn't have severe hydrocephalus.
Alta was 100% vent-dependent so hydrocephalus is kind of irrelevant in comparison, imo. Luna survived ~6 months of no medical intervention (despite Robyn's best efforts to starve her to death) and ~2 years of very limited intervention vs. 3 hours off the vent for Alta.

Plus Robyn is only wasting chiropractor time with Luna, Alta was using NICU/PICU resources and actual nurses' and doctors' time.

Yeah, Alta is more comparable to Tinslee than Luna.

I hope they don't have to have the hearing, because Tinslee will already have died.
If the hearing is scheduled, it means despite all the bluster, she failed her CPAP trial and is back on the vent full time. She isn't well enough to move out of the hospital. Kids can and do go home on a buddy vent.

I would be surprised if she makes it through the holidays, and whoever set that date thought the same. The kindest thing they could do would be to tank her little kidneys with continual ketamine and let her go. She probably has the opiate tolerance of the worst heroin addict on earth, so it isn't unreasonable.

Fingers crossed that happens. The fact that's she's suffered this long is appalling. I'm sure even her brain is fucked at this point due to the constant medical crises, lack of proper socialization, and massive amount of painkillers and other powerful drugs.

Yeah, it usually recessive so it should appear earlier in the family, but if the recessive gene is uncommon in the population, then the only way two can easily meet is through incest.

Sickle cell is a good example. It's recessive, but the recessive allele is more common in parts of Africa. So a person with the allele in Africa will likely have a family history. But if they leave to Europe and marry a white-y, then the family history will slowly disappear.

Their presence in the family history depends on how common the allele is in population.

So for rare alleles, it can avoid showing up like with the Hartley Hooligans. Both parents carried an extremely rare recessive but since it's so rare, neither side had any potatoes baked in it before. It's so rare that the only other cases reported were incest babies in areas of the world where incest is still common.
This is actually why some areas of the Middle East and South East Asia are such fertile ground for geneticists who study these rare recessive disorders. The (Saudi) authors actually mention it briefly in the TLE6 article which I linked previously. The population of Saudi Arabia is highly consanguineous, leading to an increased rate of all kinds of weird congenital disorders that aren't seen in non-consanguineous populations. It's like the Amish/Mennonite founder effect on a larger scale.

I have to occassionally use instagram app on my phone for work related reasons.
They are really pushing this shit.
Every time I open it I get a suggested video of some disgusting disfigured freak on the front page.
Today it really pissed me off because I've decided to open it during my lunch and lost appetite when the first this I saw was some abomination with deformed head, fish eyes, constantly opened mouth with undeveloped teeth and tubes running from its neck. Fuck off, freaks. You cant make me care more, but you can make me care less.

Hospital systems have entire buildings dedicated to only genetics of certain backgrounds, for example a huge and famous hospital system here has something called the Center for Jewish Genetics that they’ve partnered with other hospitals for.

yes!!!! i find the exact same thing happens to me and it pisses me off like i don’t WANT to see these fucked up kids. i don’t enjoy knowing about these things and it makes me feel like a bad person for being disgusted by a lot of them wondering why their parents decided to have them when they had to have known something was wrong just from an ultrasound. and then none of the comments are realistic it’s either middle easterners or people ass kissing saying how beautiful the child is and then i really feel like an asshole.

Birth injuries are a thing, not everything is picked up by ultrasound and many genetic disorders develop after the neonatal period. So unless your kid has something that shows on a standard newborn screen, you wont know till later.

Also de novo mutations are a thing (random disease).

Likewise, some Native American tribes have increased rates of some genetic issues or diseases, including those introduced from outside. For example, I did clinicals on the Zuni and Navajo reservation, and they had a higher than background incidence of albinism (these people were basically blond Indians) and about 1 person in 700 had cystic fibrosis, vs. 1 in 20,000 in the outside population.

Now just what in the hell is going on HERE??? What in the hell is going on under these turbans?!!!!

Looking at the parents page they have a beautiful normal older daughter. Poor girl, now she has this as a “sister” they should have counted their blessings with the first daughter and let this one be medical waste.

Bonus vid of a different veg, playing what looks like a really fun game.

Bonus Bonus horrific pt?? Session, 22
Minutes long so the link will have to do. But wow….

Alta at least wasn’t in pain.

Yes exactly. People who haven't been around it often overestimate what you can see prenatally. Most of the consangious stuff won't show up on prenatally unless you specifically screen for it, and there are virtually infinite things that can go wrong.

They fucking pierced the kids ears! What the fuck would you do that to a tater for? Putting a bow on it is bad enough. Wouldn't that risk setting off a death-seizure or giving it an infection? Why stop there maybe tater baby wants a tattoo or a breast enhancement so we can all see it's nominally female.
Some things cannot be prettified.

It’s a cultural thing down there

It looks like a neural tube defect called an occipital encephalocele, and a huge one, at that. Encephaloceles are among the least frequently encountered neural tube defects in the United States, but they're more common elsewhere, possibly due to lack of prenatal folic acid supplementation or access to early ultrasound.

This is something that happens early in embryonic development, around gestational day 50, when the anterior end of the neural tube - the progenitor of the brain and spinal cord - doesn't close properly, resulting in the bones of the cranium failing to form. The brain and meninges herniate out the hole and are covered only by skin or, in more severe cases, a thin, translucent membrane.

Most cases of encephalocele are associated with other catastrophic malformations.

Back with sources and more sperg later.

Yep. Neural tube defects and lack of folic acid goes hand in hand. Super important to take prenatal vitamins for this reason.

Your contributions are the absolute most incredible things about this thread, Mr. Paris. I await the spergout with great anticipation.

That surgery looks was done really good and she looks is adorable (ignoring the brain outside the skull.) She, unlike Robyn and Luna. Is getting real PT. One that helps that benefits her. It is a really religious page, and medical care. The head wraps take away from her issues instead of calling attention to it, like Robyn does.

How old is she, if it was posted on Instagram I didn't see it.
