I'm sure I've mentioned my Twitter userbase theory here before so I'm not surprised by this.

Its fairly clear that twitter is definitely the largest benefitiary of the current tech bubble that means people shove capital into services with no visible return, save for propping up the bubble itself, I could see twitter being sustained or slowly deflated over that, crashing twitter out would likely pop the tech stock bubble and make people reconsider the power of big tech and such.

That's at least the main path I see twitter sustaining through, twitter may be useless but high profile and shake the market too drastically to allow.
