High Guardian Spice - Tumblr: The CalArt Anime

Haven't watched the show and never will, so take this watcher I've found in the post with a grain of salt (he dissappeared in the later hour). Even others in the twitter post are confused too.
I'm going to assume there is lesbian romance as well since the only people that I bet would watch this wholeheartedly are male feminists who fetishize lesbians

So let me guess: there's going to be hardcore scissoring and cunnilingus along with discussions on how a tranny got their dick cut off. Gross.

Umm….about that….

I have a dumbass brother arguing High Guardian Spice should be considered an anime because it looks like anime, and it was animated (outsourced) in South Korea.
:stress:
Oh boy the people who think "X IS AN ANIME BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE ONE" logic, I love that argument. It especially was annoying when there were retards who argued that Avatar the Last Airbender and Teen Titans were anime.

Shit might as well say this is an anime

Funny she says that because this is clearly not a kids' show, not anymore.

No fucking wonder Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network turned Raye down. Although I wonder if she added all this shit when Crunchyroll offered to make it. (In which case, how come Netflix wasn't an option?)

I can guess Crunchyroll was desperate for "original content" and they picked the show up since it was one of the few options available. But really this show would be very forgettable if it was on any other streaming service than the one that acts like they are an anime charity service.

Every time one of these comes out with a representative character I want to be glad that they went the distance to actually create something but that feeling is immediately dissipated when it's done in the most blatant and uncreative way possible.

You're writing a fictional magic setting and you make the Transgender character so unsubtle that it couldn't be done in an organic way. Like, literally, you had to spell it out. How boring.

If people can forget Neo yokio, the Will Smith's son "anime", then they'll forgot this one easily

This scene is completely fucking irrelevant to the plot and has no reason to even be shown, right? No need to answer, I already know it fucking is so!

This is the kind of horseshit that pisses me off. I know that we live in an unfair world by design, but that plenty of talented writers, voice actors and animators get fuckall in opportunities and fucking Jaden Smith gets a show of his own exclusively for being Will Smith's son is really fucking awful!

The dropped all episodes at once: https://www.crunchyroll.com/en-gb/high-guardian-spice
So far it has mostly a 1-star rating and one 1-star review: https://www.crunchyroll.com/en-gb/high-guardian-spice/reviews
Okay, so for full clarity i barely managed episode 1 i have had anime in the past where i could not push past the first episode and it usual came from one of three things.
1 - the artwork is severly not to my tastes.
2 - the Voice acting is realy jaring
3 - the writing seems lazy contrived or just plain boring.
within regards to high guardian spice its art is bad, not awful just not to my personal tastes. its remenicent of "Anime" art found in old how to draw anime books written by old american artsts before the hobbie took of in the est and this artstyle is similar to that, the character designs feel a little bland and the artwork looks simple, again not awfual just not to my tastes.
The voice acting seems fine, i don't have any issues with the voice actors and they seem on par with that of Shera but the writeing appears to be so much worse and the paceing seems so off, with a large part of a 30 minute episode filled with silent simple world shots of them traveling, with no real context or weight for them leaving. then there was a jaring set of still images flashed one after the other that for a seccond made me think it was the worlds worst OP before it then cut to the actual OP which felt dry and again a little bland, but personaly im not one for OP's so i was just thankfull it was short.
Save for the poor writeing and the bad art choice the voice acting and animation seems good, there was a nice looking sceen with two bird things, the animation seems well done in spite or perhaps becuase the simple artwork, but unfortunately good acting and animation can't pull the waggon of a story.
Overall score 2/10
TLDR: Voice acting and animation fine, artwork i feel is a little bland and writeing and paceing needs alot of work, won't be watching or wasiting much more time on this.
