wow...umm...

I was taking a jab at phil more than stating a fact when I say his knowledge of Japan comes from yakuza, judgement and persona but no he just said that in games like yakuza, judgement and persona kids go and take the bus alone and go out on their own, it's really like that in japan.

Yes phil also when japanese kids hit 10 parents send them to an old scientist and they get to pick one of 3 pets to go on a journey with but if they don't do that and their dad dies a green alien kidnaps them and beats the shit out of them, unlike America where rich kids parents get shot they become batman poor kids can't afford that so their uncle gets killed and they become spiderman.

but this is a double whammy, the fact he found it so odd that kids do things on their own like take the bus or subway without parents makes me wonder if he was super sheltered with overbearing helicopter parents.

Like a lot of peepul, Phil is sensitive to what the prevailing winds are and knows how to suck up to whoever is in power culturally. If the NSDAP took power tomorrow Phil would have a swastika tacked to his Bison hat the next time his stream went live. Also like a lot of abusive narcissists, he attracts broken people which of course means troons. Troon mods, troon whales, troon furries, etc. I don't know if he's ever noticed it, and I doubt he's ever considered why that might be, since Phil can barely consider his immediate surroundings, but if he notices more sources of money want chat to behave a certain way, he will force chat in that direction as long as it doesn't clash with his ego/controlling nature.

He is 100% the product of helicopter parenting and onlychilditis. You can tell he's extremely sheltered since he considers very common things exotic or shocking. I think he's said he grew up in a very sheltered environment in so many words, or that he grew up with a very limited view of the world. Can't recall exactly when it's come up, probably used an excuse for his shitty behavior, maybe his racism, in a deboonking stream or two.

I really think his freakouts over sexuality come from him being completely impotent. It fits the profile, impotent men get angry at sexuality or women in general, or just uncomfortable and want to get away as fast as possible. The khet theory would require her giving a shit about him on a physical level which strains credulity.

It's pretty bizarre that someone his age would be shocked by kids doing things themselves. I'm younger than him and I remember the old days when you'd leave the house all day, ride bikes around, explore the outside world, and just be home in time for dinner.

It really is the case that his mom and dad were coddling helicopter parents, damn.

Speaking of all his Japanese knowledge coming from Yakuza, Judgement etc I find it funny how naïve he is about brothels and the concept of legally gray areas. He acts like there aren't "massage parlors" in the U.S. that double as handjob stations. Dude has the life experience of a bubble boy.

I forget what detractor had this theory, but they thought maybe Derich's parents blew up on Phil for taking so much money from him because Derich used to donate and then stopped. Maybe they threatened Phil or scared him into being nice to Derich without him having to pay for the privilege. I can't recall any proof, but something along those lines feels right when you put the pieces together. Phil absolutely never gives a non-paying viewer that attention, he will absolutely spaz on anyone repeating themselves, especially a non-paypig, and Derich went from consistently tipping and cheering to nothing. Whatever it was, it was something "behind da scenes".
