People always thought of Niji as being free as fuck (especially more true for EN Nijifans), but now they're trying to curb that and are going to steer the livers more. I mean, they just made a new unit made of existing livers, not unlike the Umisea.

But I'll throw you a bone: Is it possible that Anycolor management did, for whatever reason, curb the collab? Sure. That would be equally as disappointing and I'd be equally as ready to grill them over it if it came to light.

There's literally nothing I can think of that would even hint at the idea that they're tightening their grip over them, though. And, by extension, I have no reason to believe that they'd suddenly snub a collab with Kiara if she came knocking.

Going off the comments in the tweet, the [SERIOUS] clipper doesn’t seem to have the best reputation.

The Kiara clip that originally garnered all the attention didn't have high negative reception, so the clipper wasn't viewed in a negative light until sometime within the last week. It seems to be that only until after having released more clips with SERIOUS in the title clickbaity "content" that people began to call them out. this video, for example has half the views, but about 4 times as much dislikes as the original Kiara SERIOUS clip. it could also just be small group of people that are calling this clipper out, while the rest of the audience doesn't know/care about the issue

While it's generally pointless reasoning with people who use the terms like "elitshit nijifags" unironically, the reason why people say that is because Nijisanji is heavily responsible for popularizing the style of vtubing that basically everyone now associates with vtubing.

Look at the early vtubers. Kizuna Ai, Kaguya Luna, Mirai Akari, etc. These were the big names back in the day, and they made their names primarily through pre-recorded content with 3D avatars. The famous Kizuna Ai "Fak U" moment came in an edited let's play, not a livestream. Cover's Tokino Sora debuted back in late 2017 and guess what - she was a 3d vtuber who mostly focused on pre-recorded content.

Nijisanji Wave 1 debuted in early 2018 with 2d models and a focus on livestreaming over pre-recorded content. Many vtuber fans widely mocked the shitty-ness of early Niji L2D, viewing it as a cheap alternative to 3D, but Wave 1 - particularly Tsukino Mito - immediately became popular. Mito hit 100k subs at a pace that was almost unprecedented at the time and rarely seen again until the second big vtube boom. When Hololive Gen 1 debuted in mid-2018, their version of vtubing was in many ways more in line with Nijisanji than with Sora or Kizuna Ai. The focus was on 2D and live content.

The "who copied who" argument because is almost always in bad faith, especially given the fact that we're talking about a sphere of content creation where everyone is taking influence from others. Niji, Holo, indies, etc. Nobody is 100% original. Even Kizuna Ai ended up taking ideas from others. If you have an understanding of the history of vtubing, though, you would know that Hololive today is the way it is in significant part to the influence of Nijisanji. Does this make it better or worse? No. It just is.
