It's baffling to me how Phil has the patience for Derich when he has blown up at everything and everyone else.

I'm still waiting for the day when Phil finally freaks out on Derich. "Derich, will you shut the fuck up and stop asking me the same fucking question over and over!"

Followed by Derich, unfazed, asking the exact same question again.

I forget what detractor had this theory, but they thought maybe Derich's parents blew up on Phil for taking so much money from him because Derich used to donate and then stopped. Maybe they threatened Phil or scared him into being nice to Derich without him having to pay for the privilege. I can't recall any proof, but something along those lines feels right when you put the pieces together. Phil absolutely never gives a non-paying viewer that attention, he will absolutely spaz on anyone repeating themselves, especially a non-paypig, and Derich went from consistently tipping and cheering to nothing. Whatever it was, it was something "behind da scenes".

It's because he knows Derich is retarded. He treated Kingmichael the same way, always answering his stupid questions about dinner and whatever else, treated Sidella the same way as well. Kingmichael never tipped and Sidella I don't remember. But Derich, Sidella, and Kingmichael do have one thing in common, they are mentally retarded.

My theory there is totally unfounded headcannon, just one possibility. It really does baffle me too, because Phil doesn't show genuine kindness to anything except his cat, and that's only because Jasper never questions him or sneak disses him. Neither does Derich, so maybe he views him as a pet. Maybe he's walking on egg shells because of what happened with Sidella or someone before him? He's kind of a mascot for the streams. I don't know, maybe I'm just not giving Phil enough credit. I'm genuinely interested to hear other peoples' Derich theories.

Okay seriously what the fuck I was checking clipper channels for more Lost Judgment clips and after every stream of Lost Judgment at least 2 of them post a clip of Phil pigsplaining Japanese culture or some aspect of it and getting everything wrong. And it's not like they all post a clip of the same thing, it's 2 clips of 2 different incorrect pigsplanations. Especially if it's a Bacon Bits episode by Aqua Teal, then you're bombarded by clips of Phil pigsplaining Japanese culture.

Why is he suddenly doing this? No other Yakuza game or the first Judgment game made him do this. In fact in Yakuza 7 he was still surprised at some of the plot points which related in some way to Japanese culture. When the game explained how legally grey businesses like soaplands or similar rub'n'tugs worked he was sitting there completely bewildered like he's a Spanish conquistador who just witnessed the first human sacrifice ritual he's ever seen performed in some South American tribe which he thought was ripe for Spanish rule. Even when he was LARPing as a robust Itahlien stahllien years ago he never did this shit and pigsplained aspects of Itahlien culture. Is he gonna claim in a future Lost Judgment stream that he's quarter Japanese?

I've always established his fanbase as a factual basis for the content he has delivered and caters to, regardless of his hypocrisy because that is what he is..

He is 100% the product of helicopter parenting and onlychilditis. You can tell he's extremely sheltered since he considers very common things exotic or shocking. I think he's said he grew up in a very sheltered environment in so many words, or that he grew up with a very limited view of the world.
