Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

The fourth is funny because it reportedly included individuals upset about not being included in PM chains and not being pinged known to post in it being hypocrites about that aspect of the scenario. They defended themselves by claiming it's different because someone could always pay to see it, if memory serves.

The problem with the Chinese Flu vaccines is that trust in the science/government/law enforcement/media/judiciary has been lost by most people. The diseases you mentioned came at a different time. People developed trust in the science and in the vaccines. Got a TDAP booster recently. These diseases were never politicized, whereas the Chinese Flu certainly has been. If the Chinese Flu hadn't masked a naked power grab by politicians, people would be far more understanding as things developed. As things stand now, the Chinese Flu's social effects are going to be FAR worse than the medical effects upon society. First time in seven decades of life I've ever seen a disease do so much damage to a nation.

And when we demonize someone or some group, such as the non-vaxxed, we become demons ourselves. Demons can't be sure they won't get their comeuppance.

On the other hand Kiwifarms also could end up following SA's path where the ass-blasted contingent grows in power over the course of a decade and eventually takes over.

IMO the way to deal with this is to entirely ban thread raiding and derailing, but of course that's not going to happen.

Yea, that's one of those things that, while true to a collection of rules intended to cover other things, would in practice be the sort of thing seen as a coup. It doesn't get more bait and switch than that. Even the hardcore lefties would be livid. Remember, people want internal consistency. If they vote for Dave, even if they don't like Dave that much, they'll in their heads try to justify having voted for him. If you then use a bunch of procedural bullshit to replace him with someone completely unrelated, that conflicts with their "I chose this guy cuz he was the right choice" position.

And if you want to make the entire center and right completely decouple from any confidence in the administration, a powerplay like that would be a speedrun strat to do it with.

This sites userbase leans right culturally if not economically and many cultural lefties on here just can't stand that. A&H's will always attract polispergs and the fact this site leans so convincingly right means that the politics sections discourse will reflect that. 90% of the "politics=bad" people on here are just butthurt lefties with a splattering of wingnats assmad that they can't post on the politics section without being disagreed with and negrated.

After the Nov election a lot of users (and some now ex users): Neil, Janedoe, HHH, BSC, Zedkissed, Muh vagina and others tried to get the right leaning polispergs to quit this site. The worst case was where Gustav was either doxxed or fail doxxed by Zed, but the others have tried smaller things to fuck with us. Neil and Jane have started a whole slew of "lol"cow threads where it's clear they've only been started because the author hates their politics.
