"u guys need to remember this is niji hugbox okay, cmon guys, lets shit on holo but not niji, even though nijifag dumb take is as autistic as usual" LMAO,why not say it like that?? its better to be more clear.

the classic nijifag talking "holo is lucky,if u in holo u got instant success no matter how TALENTLESS u are" yeah no,someone already explain it then got called with bullshit like "why u wrote hagliography, criticism for hololive is okay even though that criticism isnt JUSTIFIED" what a fuckng autistic logic.

"It's almost instant success. You don't have to be a good streamer, you will get success."
Summing it up a bit: being a part of Hololive does not guarantee success. Being a part of Hololive guarantees attention. Attention + talent = success. (in the unique case of streamers, I would argue "likeable engaging personality" is a type of "talent")

Maybe if you have children. Otherwise, only 1-2 hours of free time to use as you see fit, sounds pretty unhealthy.

I can't disagree with that. Talent at marketing is not the same as talent in content.

That was hilarious. I'm hoping to see some clips of IRyS being clueless in that collab (probably exist already, haven't looked). Peak for me was that she pronounced Hades as "Haids", and that lead to Baelz trolling her about the pronunciation of other Greek and Roman figures.

I'll concede that the phrase 'guaranteed success' implies that all you need to do is get in and it's smooth sailing - which it isn't - but it IS true that a place in Hololive = the most frontloaded exposure and level of fame one can springboard off of, which is moreso what I was getting at in that there is literally no better opportunity for them in the industry. No other EN group can boast 90,000+ debut streams and 200K+ subscribers before they debut. They just need to not completely fuck it up out the gate and they win.
This.

Even before first streaming most of the EN girls hit 100k subs. When it comes to Youtube, I have seen creators comment that once you hit 100k subs, you can start doing Youtube as full-time job. A goal that takes regular people anywhere from 1-10 years to hit that number (depending on content, luck and how active they are). Of course, Hololive seems to know what they are doing when it comes to finding talent. I have a feeling Digibro's girlfriend (forgot her name, the autistic chick with the panties on her head which Pippa reviewed her video) would probably fail at gaining more subs past that 100k mark.

Gonna numberfag for a bit but look at Sana. As much as I like her, her content is not as great or memorable as the other girls from her gen. Add to that the fact that she hasn't streamed in the last 2 weeks. When it comes to marketing, the first 3 months in a product's life are the most important, so its no surprise that her numbers are "suffering" greatly due to her absence. Even so she is at 220k followers. Had she been independent she wouldn't probably have more than 1k followers. Will she bounce back? Yes. Why? Because she already has a massive audience.

Y'know I love listening to Trash Taste Podcast, but their takes on Hololive in this instance and in the previous one where Garnt compared them to VShojo's just plain wrong. Garnt said he started leaning into VShojo more than Hololive because he didn't like the idol aspects of Hololive. Well just two problems:
1. Why didn't that filter him before?
2. What specifically about them being an idol agency have caused their stream quality to degrade, or for end viewers' enjoyment to degrade?
1. VShojo speak English
2. His penis is inside one of the "talents" so by default he will support her and her work acquaintances over anyone else.

Watching the Nina and Reimu collab from earlier today. Im basically numb to the "honey" and while I wish she didn't use that shit so much, she is not bad. I don't mind the whole Mom/Daughters thing either (as she is clearly older and in her early 30's and the other girls seem to be in their early 20's). The fact that she speaks Russian is going to be her best weapon when it comes to getting super chats. Reimu speaking Spanish will also have that advantage as there are barely any big Vtubers for those 2 audiences. Nina suggested that Reimu play Darksouls, which is something I would love to watch because she gets super salty.

I agree with hana macchia's dad.
Connor has shit takes but what he said is you don't have to be a good streamer, doesn't mean your not a good content creator.
Mori wasn't a good streamer at the start, if they didn't release a song and hype up HoloEn before debut she won't be as successful.
The brand play a big part but remember hololive wont hire a talentless individual they might not be good at streaming but they have a talent to market and can improve as a streamer in the long run.

well too bad then that someone doesnt share same interest as u? what a surprise, now i starting to understand whats wrong with the mind of nijifag like u,and im not some dumb holotard who just because its holo so i have to watch all of it,yeah no shit.

yeah no,3k pages so far there is only 1 group in this thread which is those dumb nijifags that circlejerk around saying dumb shit, the classic "holo is shit, niji is better, why u guys wont watch niji?? u must watch no matter what, holo is just lucky" even some absolute dumb connor monkey brain stuff is "TRUE" for them.

no one have the balls to call those idiots because this thread is basically become niji hugbox now,a legit niji EN vtuber doxing shit are called "okay, theres nothing wrong".so yeah, the group u r looking for is those nijifag circle jerk.

it doesnt matter how cringe those holotard simp atleast they are nowhere as autistic as this nijifag.
@Eddie IX Are your SEAtard translation services for hire, by any chance? I get that this isn't exactly a wall of text, but every time I try to read this my eyes blatantly refuse to process it.

Have a dose of unity, exceptional individual.

Absolutely an entertaining watch, you love to see it. Things like these make the situation of Kiara's NG collab with allegedly Pomu strange. Then again, it wouldn't be the first or last time when apparently the EN management ended up operating differently than JP's.
Every main western space for discussing vtubers is going to be Holofan dominated. As someone who is more into Niji, I will say that this place is better than the alternatives (Reddit and /vt/) in my short experience.
That's totally understandable, yeah. As long as there's breathing room for any Vtuber discussion, and it's not an environment where talk about anything other than Norf FC is at best ignored, that's more than okay.

I've already been to communities where it was blatant people only care about Hololive, and communities where same applied to Nijisanji (neither of which promoted themselves as such). To be honest, while I'm one of the maybe five Niji shills here, neither of those communities sat right with me; shit just felt like a meaningless echo chamber. I wanna feel like I'm free to discuss anything in this massive industry, whether talking indies, some super small obscure groups like Heavenrend, or assisting Herr Führer Riku Tazumi in his goal of turning 35% of the global population into Niji Vtubers by 2030. :semperfidelis:

Bearing in mind Connor's idea of a good streamer includes the likes of Tyler1, I have to question what is his idea of "being a good streamer". Like many of you have mentioned too, a good streamer for me is just someone that can engage an audience and provide entertainment through whatever content they produce. And this isn't some binary scenario, one streamer being more entertaining doesn't mean another streamer is bad but it also doesn't mean a good streamer can't have bad streams.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: Hololive has messed with everyone's understanding and expectations when it comes to numbers. Saying stuff like Anya/Aki/Mel etc are failures is like calling the last place runner at the Olympics an unfit amateur. To borrow a West Taiwan saying "A starving camel is still bigger than a well fed horse" and the bottom of Hololive is still far from being a starving camel.

I don't have a very high opinion of people who can somehow think a company that can support over 150 vtubers as not being successful. Oh and that somehow all 150+ of those vtubers aren't worth shit and the only reason they haven't folded is because exceptional individuals prop them up just to spite the holy Mecca Cover corp.

Isn't tribalism fun?

Not sure if this worth anything, but MatPat said in a recent video that there's enough ad revenue in being a youtube partner that people are going full time at only 10k subs. While the lesser performing Holos may be way behind in superchats and memberships, Ad revenue on top of merchandising are probably the bigger piece of the pie.

Pippa's talking about not liking the vtuber community and wants to return to 2016 internet. She wants a "toxic space" and misses when you could tell someone to kill themselves in game and it was normal. This is so great.

She got off topic as soon as the stream started.

All this talk about the Welsh guy is tiring. Wanna argue over IRyS calling GIF as gif and Kronii calling GIF as gif?
which one pronounces it as

LMAO
Kronii has an elytra? Or did Miko just have no words for cape?
That is so damn cute coming from a soda
spoiler: yes, she does wear her panties
black

I wonder if some visiting fags here too think before they type, or even just proofread whatever the fuck they're gonna say before hitting the "post reply" button. Like damn, at least make it comprehensible and or grammatically sound if you're gonna sperg.

So did Hololive start off as an immediate success? They didn't have any early startup problems like most media companies do? Yagoo used his powers and boom... Hololive the vtuber brand everyone recognizes came into fruition?

That's the impression I get from watching that clip of Connor. It's like he thinks Hololive began as this big vtuber conglomerate. And that any streamer can join them and is immediately successful. Neglecting the fact it wasn't an overnight success. The reason any girl who joins the brand and automatically has 100K youtube subscribers without even debuting yet is because people recognize that brand they built up as a quality product.

But maybe I'm wrong and Hololive was this overnight success. I'm not too familiar with the early lore.

Poor Pippa, she still thinks bald man and the cow guy are edgy streamers when they're some of the more normies streamers out there, and wants to emulate them. Pippa, that's only because their immediate neighbors are Vaush and Hasan, so of course they come off as the toxic gamers. Though, I don't doubt that some of their viewers are tired of skirting the line, so to speak.
