The Eternals - marvel is trying it again this time less humor and hit music and more unnecessary love triangles

The thing that bugs me the most about eternals is that for some reason Gilgamesh is a character in it and instead of making him look like a hero or anything the myths would lead you to believe he's some fat blob who looks like he belongs more in a McDonald's drive through then fighting someone. Ma Dong-seok is actually a really good actor to be honest. He was so happy to be at the premiere. He's done more films than most of the cast second to Angelina and Salma.

He is definitely up there with the Parasite actor in terms of underrated greatness.

Most of the criticisms I've read actually make this sound good to me. Non-superhero characters, non-standard plot, breaks away from Marvel's normal formula, the general masses who consume all the other Marvel movies don't like this one? All of this stuff makes it sound better to me.

Of course it may still be crap. Is it out in the USA, yet?

I've basically come to the conclusion conclusion that RDJ had so much charisma and screen presence as Tony Stark that he basically carried the MCU and Disney has absolutely no fucking idea what to do without him.
I think its that combined with the fact that Endgame was a good ending for the whole thing, it all started with a selfish billionaire and we saw him grow into a hero and eventually give his life to save the universe. The MCU could very well end there, all the subsequent films feel like that revival of a beloved TV series that no one asked for

This is part of it.

First, they greatly over valued how invested people were in the "universe" and not just "the avengers". People wisened up during Phase 3 when half of the shit they put out had very little meaningful bearing on Infinity War/Endgame.

Second, they haven't introduced any sort of "hook" nearly as powerful as "The Avengers Initiative" or Thanos and the Infinity Stones. Black Widow sets up a shitty Hawkeye Disney+ series, and Shang Chi just kind of sets up that the rings are magical?

Third, they spent the past three years working on a film for a dead character and a Chinese diversity film instead of establishing a charismatic leading force on the level of Robert Downey Jr.

At the end of the day, Disney thought the same shit they thought with Star Wars. "It's Star Wars, people will just HAVE to show up!" but that only works with die hard fanboys. And even a lot of them are starting to wisen up.

The last time I remember a movie getting so many "Jesus Christ, when the fuck will this franchise give up and die already?" type reviews was... well, Fast and Furious 9 earlier this year, actually. But before that, it was Star Trek: Nemesis. And that is NOT a comparison that bodes well.

Please tell me that's not supposed to be Riri Williams, AKA Ironheart. The last thing I need is to know that Marvel is so self-delusional to think that the major symbol of Marvel comics decline needs to be in film.
The costume is Venomized Iron Man from the third season of Marvel’s Spider-Man, but Riri Williams is being introduced to the MCU in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
