I remember going on a terf subreddit when a makeup youtuber came out as trans and there were a bunch of people saying they "toooootally knew it" even though the youtuber passed so well that there was not even a rumor being spread throughout the years. That got me thinking, however.

Are terfs just super paranoid and think anyone with slightly mannish looks is trans? There are many women who have sharp jaws and such or large hands. Do they just think that anyone with one of those traits is a man? Are they just constantly on the lookout for the secret man? Are these people seriously out there analyzing traits of every woman? I feel like it's almost an obsessive compulsion if they're doing it that often.

Also doesn't it break the laws of feminism or whatever to compare women to the typical feminine physical traits and then try to deny her feminity if she doesn't fit the standard?

It really doesn't take much effort to work out if someone is a transwoman. You're just immediately aware that something is very off.

Women are inherently better at clocking troons because it's just in the nature of females to spend more time looking and observing people to determine if there's danger.

If you're talking about Nikki tutorials the only reason he ever 'passed' is because he hid his trans status and didn't make it his whole person. There's also the carefully cultivated image he maintained that didn't let anyone really see what he looked like next to other people for a long time. Nikki's career is based on control of image and the only reason he really 'came out' is far more likely as a result of knowing his star was rising and he knew the façade would be broken sooner rather than latter as more people saw him interacting with others outside of the shoulder up camera angle that his video portray.

Nikki also doesn't just look 'slightly mannish' he's a goddamn linebacker. Giant head, shoulders, etc. Women who're this tall are rarely this fat/wide. They're usually slender and/or dangerously thin- just look at any supermodel. Nikki also has a ton of plastic surgery on his face further augmented by drag queen levels of makeup.

Nikki also isn't based in America and a lot of the shadiest rumors won't be passed around in the youtube sphere, but in the makeup industry insider culture that most people aren't privy too. People knew but because Nikki wasn't behaving like a typical troon behavior wise, they weren't gonna make a big deal out of it. Especially when there was far juicer and more obvious drama to cover. Nikki being born a man is nothing when you've got people like Jeffrey Star, James Charles, Nikita Dragun and their ilk causing fresh scandals every other week. His lack of controversy and brand friendly image kept anyone from exposing the truth.

Human brains are very good at figuring out something is off about a person and people pretending to be the opposite sex often sets off the danger danger part of our brains. I've personally clocked an early stage tif based on a single cheek hair and the barest change to their voice. Lots of people can feign passing though carefully cultivated social media- photos, videos, angles, etc. [Like Nikki and Christine McConnell] but interpersonal face to face interaction will have your brain going 'something is off'.

I'm sorry but as someone who has limited energy resources, that sounds ridiculously energy wasting to try to analyze and clock every single person you interact with. It seems like it wouldn't be beneficial on a day to day basis. It's why I compared it to being close to an obsessive compulsive thought because that sounds like an extreme hassle to look for the secret troon in every encounter with another human.

Also I feel like you're leaning on hindsight when talking about the youtuber. Did you or anyone around you even suspect they were a man before they came out? Because I saw no one even bring it up over the years as lurker.

It's not because it's natural and happens in seconds. It's just the way most women are. We're not writing a thesis paper in our heads we're looking at someone and taking in a lot visual info, processing it, and making a decision... in seconds. This isn't a thing you decide to do where you pick a person an analyze them, it's just something you do naturally and quickly in the same way you formulate a gut feeling. There's a very small number of people who actually pass when you're face to face anyway and you will notice things that are off about most of them- often the second they start speaking.

I didn't immediately clock Nikki as a troon but I also didn't watch Nikki at all to dwell on them. Beauty youtube was not something I really cared about. I was just responding to your comment on people not knowing, iirc it was a rumor or a known fact in her home country. I do recall a long long while ago I was watching a vlog by xsparkage and there was this brief moment where they met up with Nikki at a con- when Nikki was new to youtube- and while I didn't immediately go 'that's a man' given how brief the clip was there was something about the interaction and Nikki's size that made me go weird.

Her video about black women annoyed me. She basically was reassuring black women that it doesn't matter if troons call black women masculine since masculine is not an insult. It seemed passive aggressive and gaslighting. While black women are women whether someone thinks black women are masculine, that doesn't mean black women should just ignore that crap. Especially since their are features on white and Asian women that are more masculine like being more hairy or having less curves respectively.

What I find funny is a lot of these radfems will slip up and admit they are miserable and how they had bad relationships with their mother. Many will admit to being mentally ill or depressed. I am not saying you can't have insight on feminism or social issues, but obviously their outlook is going to be warped based on them having outlier experiences.

There is an interesting case in the UK at the moment

Basically a woman four-times-married (red flag) stabbed her husband, hung up the phone when he was calling 999, stabbed him some more, and then when the cops arrived said "I'm glad he's dead I hope Im not charged with attempted, I wanted to murder the bastard".

Anyway she was found guilty of murder by 10-2 with a jury of 8 women 4 men, which means minimum 15 years sentence and she got 17

Terfs are outraged because men bad, women good. They are trying to compare to other cases where men have killed their wives, except in those cases the men were found not guilty of murder because of 'temporary loss of control' whereas in this case there was clear and unequivocally expressed intent to murder.
