So this weirdo is saying that because different languages have different words for colors, therefore colors aren’t real? I mean yeah, it’s pretty normal to have different cultural descriptors for things. If you’re from a culture that doesn’t associate light blue with babies, you’re not going to call it “baby blue”. Doesn’t mean that blue isn’t real. Records show that ancient middle eastern cultures used the word “scarlet” to refer to anything between medium red and deep purple, but that’s because they were referring to the same dye that was used in varying amounts to make all of those colors. Which they probably described as “light”, “medium”, “dark”, etc. when referring to the resulting hue. They still weren’t going to get red mixed up with indigo.
And if nothing is real, then doesn’t that mean that your gender identity isn’t real? So why should i acknowledge it if i see the world differently?

The color argument is one of my favorite "gotcha, TERFs" arguments. I love how they always act like they just blew our minds by telling us that words for colors differ based on the culture they come from. It is akin to when children realize that language is made up, so therefore nothing exists.

Color is a spectrum, which is, at its core, based on wavelengths. Color terms are approximations between point A and point B on the spectrum. Thus, different cultures will draw different lines on the spectrum, typically based on colors that have significance within their culture. This is why terms for colors tend to arise when a culture becomes able to produce it as a dye.

The example that Brian "Mags" uses is that there wasn't a word for blue in the Levant, specifically the Bronze age, which is not true. Sources for bronze age languages are few to begin with. Though it is true that terms for the color blue tend to arise later than other color terms, there was no absence of such a term in the Levant. Ancient Egyptians had a word for blue and were able to produce a blue dye. This would disprove Brian's point that there was no blue during the Bronze Age Levant; Ancient Egypt existed during the Bronze age. Similarly, ancient Hebrews produced a blue dye and blue is the holiest color in Judaism.

Meanwhile, sex is a binary, with words that reflect these two categories. It makes no sense to try and compare a binary sex system to color, which is a spectrum. Meanwhile, gender (assuming it exists) is based on sex. Since male and female are separate groups, how could gender possibly be a spectrum? It just doesn't make sense and they expect us to simply accept what they say, without questions.

When women age we tend to take on some more masculine features. We don’t go full dude but some facial hair sprouts up, noses and ears could get larger, voices deeper etc. this usually doesn’t happen till late middle age or even past middle age.

When guys (who have masculine features duh) dress as women I think they age themselves by a few years simply by virtue of their masculine features. Your brain tries to make sense of it all, sees some masculine features and ages a 27yo to 37.

I think wigs and the younger hair might help too. As people age their hair and skin wash out a bit, at least on white people. This is usually followed by greying hair, but if you dye your hair a too-dark color (even a natural one) it will age you because the washed out aged skin clashes with the dark hair. It’s why it’s easier to pull off black dresses in your 20s and 30s, but many women will move to a deep navy, brown or eggplant when they hit their 40s. Dark colors on aging skin ages you even faster.

So merge the fact that they are aging themselves simply by being men, and are wearing wigs (or even using their natural dark hair) and you have the perfect storm of people aging.


EDIT: looking again, the sad thing is, if half these guys just dropped the whole trans thing and we’re just like “I like to dress androgynously” they would be fine.
Justice is kinda adorable in a butch lesbian kinda way, and it’s sad that she just can’t be that. 10. the first generation of this group raises children who have only ever known life inside the group so the cycle then continues

I have no doubt they'll certainly try, but I think many of them are going to come to really regret the existence of both screenshots and archive functions. The prominent ones, at least, are likely going to be haunted by this phase for the rest of their lives. They're too malevolent to be forgotten, I think. Most social trends are stupid and cringe, but I really think the current troon insanity is different.

Loads of normies had a mortifying stint on tumblr as a scene kid/goth/Potterhead/whatever.
